Dear Tiger lilly,
Welcome to the internet.
If you're looking for "constructive criticism" the internet may be the wrong place for you.
You've been here a long time, surely you would have noticed that when an Ubersite member is armed with the anonymity that the internet provides, that the level of response you are going to receive is not as warm and welcoming as that which you would receive in a face to face environment.
Uberites can be harsh and seem a little more abrasive than they would likely be in real life, so what? Rather than focus on those who say something offensive to you, surely you would appreciate more what nice things people have said.
You wonder what kind of parents people have because they insult you on the basis of appearance or disability, well, isn't that obvious what kind of parents they have? They have normal parents.
Sure, the majority of people on Ubersite in a face-to-face meeting with you would not mention your prosthetic leg. However, in a large group of people from Ubersite in a face to face meeting with you, someone would likely make a snide comment about it, it's pack mentality to pick on the "perceived" weak. Now, in a huge group of people from Ubersite in an online environment relishing in their anonymity, people will take the piss.
I'm not sure why, but your rant really bugged me, for some reason it sounds like you think you are better than the Internet, that every other Internet user should bow down and worship you for having one leg rather than ridiculing you. I think you should just take the happy median and enjoy the nice things people have to say about you or your writing, and ignore the not-nice things the others say.
My constructive criticism for you is: You write some interesting stuff that I for most part enjoy reading, but rants like that really bug me.
