Newcastle dismiss manager Souness
Newcastle have announced that Graeme Souness' contract has been terminated with immediate effect.
The Magpies have won only one point in six Premiership matches and are only six points above the relegation zone.
A statement on the club's website read: "The employment of Graeme Souness has been terminated with immediate effect.
"And an announcement will be made shortly regarding transitional arrangements pending the appointment of a new team manager."

THANK THE GOOD LORD FOR THAT.
This dour scot has made my life a fucking misery for months. His insistence on playing shit players, buying largely shit players and a constant whining about anything. Titus Bramble will NEVER be good.
I miss you Sir Bobby Robson. I was driving in Durham and some old codger stepped out in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and narrowly avoided running him down. He turned, gave me the stink eye and tottered off. It was only then that I realised it was Sir Bobby himself. If I'd ran him down I'd have been well unimpressed.
To make up for it though, a few days later Sir Bobby in his seven series BMW cut me up on the motorway something rotten - again with a pure stinkeye thrown in for good measure.
I want Sven Goran Erikkson to take over, but I suspect we will be landed with Peter 'LOOK AT MY MALFORMED HEAD AND CHIN' Beardsley.

1535: GOAL Sunderland 1-0 Newcastle
Sunderland may be doomed but the Stadium of Light is rocking as Justin Hoyte opens the scoring against their great rivals. The on-loan Arsenal player started the move and after good work by Jon Stead and Dean Whitehead is on hand to slam in a cut-back from the byline.
1623: GOAL Sunderland 1-1 Newcastle
Substitute Michael Chopra levels proceedings with his first touch, nipping in to tuck the ball home after Steven Caldwell opted to leave a ball for his goalkeeper Kelvin Davis.
1624: GOAL Sunderland 1-2 Newcastle
Justin Hoyte goes from hero to villain after fouling Charles N'Zogbia in the box. Alan Shearer steps up to score and, against the run of play, Newcastle have punctured hopes of a home win at the Stadium of Light.
1630: GOAL Sunderland 1-3 Newcastle
Any hopes of a first home win of the season at the Stadium of Light look to be well and truly over after Kieron Dyer plays in Charles N'Zogbia who wriggles through the Sunderland defence and fires low into the corner.
1651: GOAL Sunderland 1-4 Newcastle
Another masterclass in how not to defend from Sunderland gifts Albert Luque his first goal in a Newcastle shirt.

Right now I would settle for a couple of clean sheets.

Red: Having had Angry Ferguson as our manager since birth, I sympathise but I don't know what it's like to have incompetent scum in charge of the club.
Roeder's (spelling?) doing alright now though.

Yeah im a Mackem.
We just dont have the money to play in the PL. When they have cleared the debts and can afford people who can score goals, (sometime in next 50 years) then we will be able to do ok. Just look at the time Phillips was scoring- and Nial Quinn the more uncoordinated fuck of all time. But a good goal scoring target because he was big. Sweet.
I have a picture of me pissing on St James's Park.
---
You're a Mackem? I'm so sorry.
You've got that lovely big stadium just packed with Mackems every week - surely there's enough revenue there?
Besides - when you were actually scoring through the fabulous combination of long ball upfield, Niall Quinn catches it with his hands (I mean chests it down) -passes to Rat Boy - GOAL, it was truly beautiful....
Mind you -Guess who's back, back again, Kyler's back - will he play?

You have a point, when Norwich can put 5 past your team in 3 games, you know you can't defend.
God, I miss the Premiership. Well, I miss beating Man U 2-0.
Still, at least I have another decade of second flight football to look forward to.
<weeps>
---
Ah - Souness has got a new job has he?
We used to beat Man Utd, and Chelsea. All sorts of teams. 3rd and 4th and that recently.
Now I feel we're going down with the Smoggies and Mackems.
Incidentally - no matter how shit you are - the Mackems will always be worse. They are an embarrassment.

Bramble is ex-Ipswich scum. Therefore banned from ever being allowed to set foot at Colney.
When are you selling Owen to Liverpool then?
---
Over my dead and cooling body.
It's typical Newcastle United though - buy a crowd pleasing striker (not that I'm not chuffed we got his signature) - and neglect the real trouble area. When was the last time we had some decent defenders?
We need to buy a hatchet man and a filthy cheating argie. Ideal. To stamp on Horseface and the like.
Signing Frank Bruno lookilikes is not good transfer policy.
Paolo Montero starts every match by marching over to the opposition striker and saying 'I kill you gringo before you score'
You have to respect that.

It's been horrible I have to say. You feel loyalty to the club, but I actually wanted us to lose in the FA cup just to get shot of him.
He's an awful man manager. Poor tactician and not savvy in the transfer market.
Nice to get Owen - but I'd point to Shearer as being more important there, and as for Parker that was money - plain and simple.
I think things are looking up.
