Given all the cartoons and fury over the Mohammed cartoons I wonder if people would get so offended if similar jibes were made at Christianity. I'd say likely not, if you're the majority you get the short stick and Christians are the most numerous and arguably the most powerful relgious faction in the world, but can they take a joke any better than our Islamic friends?

- "Jesus, is that baby for sale?"
- "It is now, LOL."

Anyway, christians could probably care less if they are keeping in mind what they are supposed to. if we are picking a fight, nobody does it better, but the christian basis is supposed to be forgiveness and compassion and understanding and all that crap. i was going to write a post about it regarding gay union but... Nah.

I'd like to see muslim groups in the USA on the streets shouting "9/11 is on its way". Although, if it did happen you wouldn't see much in the media reporting on it.

I'm from the UK, they aren't printing them here either as far as I know and it pisses me off, for the simple fact that we aren't respecting freedom of speech and expression. I think political correctness in general is one of the worst things to happen in western media and politics.
On a related sidenote some of you may know the incitement to racial hatred etc. bill fell on its face a couple of times this week, I was pleased about that, I don't like the idea of going to jail over telling a religious joke, the notion that anyone should is absurd.

Looks like the muslims in London are joining the fun....
"The shouts of "7/7 is on its way" came from some of the demonstrators who also waved placards and burnt flags in a march through the capital to the Danish, French and German embassies."
Looks like it doesn't matter if you printed it or not, they are still potesting there.

Religious jokes are my FAVORITE!
A couple gets killed in a car accident and arrive at the pearly gates to find nobody there. They knock on the heavy gates which boom loudly. But, there is no answer.
They notice a rope they can pull and it rings some bells very loudly. Yet, there is still nobody around.
On the other side of the gates, St. Peter is crouched down behind a corner peeking at the couple.
Jesus, bothered by the continued bell ringing, heads toward the pearly gates and notices St. Peter's behavior and approaches him.
"St. Peter, why are you hiding behind the wall?" Jesus questions.
"SHHHHHHHH!!!!" St. Peter responds. "Jehovah's Witnesses!!!"

I think christians have proved over and over they are much more willing to take a joke, or at least tolerate ridicule.
i am not sure where you are from, but in the US they will not print that Mohommad picture in the newspaper, which pisses me off to no end. At the same time they are continually showing pictures of this artists work who depicted Jesus upside down on the cross with Osama's face. I am completely fine with them printing this picture, but to say the Mohommad is offensive so they won't print it out of respect shows clear double standards.

Christians went nuts hundreds of years ago and wouldn't have thought twice before burning you at the stake if you did this. They've advanced past that stage, the muslims have not.
Of course the quran has alot less to be left up for "creative interpretation" with many parts calling for death of infidels (non-muslims). That is hard to change to something else.
The bible does have many quotes that are completely ignored now, even though they are in there. Slavery & beating your wife/children are the ones I can think of. If the muslims could get past this, I'd have no problems with them at all. I honestly don't think they can.

OH, I GET IT!
It's like that joke about 3 fictional characters, and 1 real character - who will reach the finish line first... and then the punch line is the non-fiction character cause they actually exist, right?
...so like Jesus wouldn't make a good politician because he doesn't really exist?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....heheeh...ha....huh...ummmm..........................
RIGHT??

Wait, nvm I am not an idiot. God can certainly take care of himself. You wanna make fun of God thats between you 2 hahahahaha.
Oh and the real kicker here is Muslims believe Muhammed was a MAN, not divine in any way. So its blasphemy to make fun of a man?
