The exhibition round is my fault. When I first thought of doing this I said the entry deadline would be in a couple of days but then as it was discussed that didn't leave enough time to do a few rounds and still end on Valentines Day. So as a bonus we had The Caes against Circe. Circe came out ahead with a quirky story of ghosts, psychics and a pot growing adulteress .

Ok, here it is as I see it.
I am in last place in my bracket as far as I can gather and I don't think I recieved any asshole reviews.
While I am not adverse to you running a lightning round, I would have to excuse myself as I have no time at all to write anything.
I have to be up at 4am GMT tomorrow, which is just over 9 hours. So unless it was going to be a very slow lightning round I won't be able to play.
I agree that it is harsh with the retard votes, but you even get that kind of thing in an annonymous Ubermadness, (remember how many people voted for the forfeits last time?), and seeing as Uber is the forum on which we have decided to compete, maybe we should just deal with it.

the short of it, please voice your opinion. we currently have four votes for 1 three for 2 and one for 3 (multiple votes) :
as I see it we have three options:
1. wait for voting time to expire (cause that was sposed to be through tomorrow)and award with revised scores for all that had retard ratings
I know there probably won't be many more votes so this may not be necessarry. I can not spell
2. close this round now with revised scores for all that had retard ratings and have a lightning round for all involved. (everyone would need to agree to cranking out another piece)

You know, I did think of that as I don't think Scourge was the only one to recieve one of these fine gifts from the retards. If no one else objects I would not have a problem with it but I would have to question whether or not it would make a difference. The line at the end wasn't a challenge, or a means to cast a stone at you. Rather, all I meant was maybe if you participated in something like this you could gauge ratings in comparison to your other, non-competitive writing.
Does thecaes get his ratings because of name recognition? Does anyone, in something like this?
More on that: I hope that, while I'm apparently the only one that can 'get away' with poetry here, people rate the content and not the form. People have chimed in on this a bit below, but I'd like to think that even if someone else tried their hand at verse in a competition like this that it'd be rated for what it had to say and not because "OMG~! We hateZ that sort of thing here!!!!111"
I'm seriously the only person dumb enough to "keep firing, assholes" and persist with poetry here.

1) There weren't supposed to be line breaks. It's a monologue.
2) Believe me, I would have made it longer. If you were to type the thing out in paragraph form it would be somewhere around 40-45 lines. However, I fear that the audience's patience for poetry is only so great, and thus they will stomach verse for only so long before their minds wander.
I'd like to think that in competitions I get the ratings I do because of the quality of the work, not because the reader thinks "oh, hey, this is that guy that did the thing with the really tall girlfriend, or that other thing where I thought he was talking about a stinky vagina but he just meant a kitty cat."
Maybe you should try your hand at something like this, OCG.
Take everything a little personally, do we? It was hard to read, it didn't flow to me. Maybe that's my failing, maybe it's not. That doesn't change one simple fact, if anyone else had posted it, they would have gotten 20 "WTF I'M NOT READING ALL THAT"s each with a 0 rating.
I didn't rate it because I couldn't read it without getting a headache. I did that out of respect for the competition so that I wasn't seen as pissing on it.

I'd like to think that in competitions I get the ratings I do because of the quality of the work, not because the reader thinks "oh, hey, this is that guy that did the thing with the really tall girlfriend, or that other thing where I thought he was talking about a stinky vagina but he just meant a kitty cat."
