Not as big a fan of Bush as I use to be, but you have to give him credit here. Of course the Michael Moore's and Janine Garofalo's of the world will say he made this story up. Then again, neither one even has a college degree so who looks like the idiot now?

If the government did actually prevent American people and property from getting FUBARED then fantastic, THATS ITS JOB. I still cannot get behind warrantless wiretaps though, they are easy enough to obtain. Don't get me wrong I do not care how many potential Muslim terrorist get tapped, but what if 20 years from now white Christian males are persons of interest? The precedent is far too dangerous to set.

Still don't buy it.
If he said that we had given them information to arrest those people used in wiretaps, then cool, point for him.
but the MAIN problem with his wiretapping is that he never used the AVAILABLE 72 HOUR POST TAP WINDOW TO OBTAIN THE WARRANTS!
That court has turned down *5* requests since it was created in the mid-late 70's. That like, 2 per DECADE.

So.....a country which isn't ours arrested several unnamed suspects from equally unnamed countries who were supposedly hatching a plot to hijack planes (of unknown make or size) on an unknown date at an unknown time and from an unknown airport. In fact, the only thing they did tell us is that the target was in America.
And this is good for Bush....how? We didn't make an arrest. All we did was provide a target.

Cooperation, eh? Between which countries? Which departments? I can understand not naming individual contacts for fear of blowing their cover, but for all the details Pres Junior gives the jackoffs in question could have been busted for jay-walking and later turned in because their Nikes were ticking. And why exactly does Bush deserve any credit? First, I doubt he was even aware of it until some little white house spin boy got ahold of the story, and second, I don't see any reason to laud someone for living up to minimal expectations.
