I liked these: the colors, the dreariness of them, etc. You captured the lower middle class feel of America. Makes me kind of home sick actually.

I'm not sure what it is about American streets that make them immediately recognisable. Not the signs or the driving-on-the-right-side or anything, just something about the feel of them. I think it's the combination of wide streets, power lines and leafless trees.

It's the temporary nature of it all. The vast majority of American buildings are thrown up in a very short space of time. The whole place is very impermanent, if that is a word.

yeah these would be considered "ugly" and "not a nice place" to most but there is something i like about the quality of the mixed typography on all those signs and buildings as far as pictures go. especially the corlies motel one.
