"This drawing was done entirely in MS Paint with a Logitech laser mouse. I did not use the copy and paste tool, or the text tool. There was no color sampling or pasting from other images, but I did view some seperate images as reference, as do most artists.

1. DID use copy and paste.

Most (if not all) images in that picture were googled, then traced over. When zooming in you can see artifacts on the edges (such as in the CS part) where a multitude of colors that would match the original screenshot have not been cleaned up properly. "Oh, those came from bitmap to jpeg conversion." No, they didn't, that's why they are only confined to certain sections. I've superimposed the original images that I could find over his tracings.
He admitted to viewing images to copy for the paint, because that is the obvious minimum he could have done with them. Unlike an artist who has to mix a palette to find colors, all he did was use the pick color, place it over a pixel of the original image for the color he wants, and then go from there. He didn't mix colors. He didn't draw from scratch. He just traced really fucking well.
Although not nearly as "professional looking" as this paint, at least Gibberish's were hand drawn and with some level of creativity. Forthewin's is just a collage of pop-culture icons, buried under tracings of itself like the acne scarred skin hiding under Cameron Diaz's makeup.

If you took any time at all to look into forthewin's history, you'd see he has more talent in one hair on his head than you could dream of having. Also, I forget to say... You did a great job finding the screenshot I got that part of the LOTR landscape from. It didn't give me much to go by though, because the image I had of it was only 100 or so pixels wide.
Oh and... You must not have read the paintproof page too well if you still felt the need to make this post, even after seeing it. With comprehension levels like that, I bet you got great grades in school. Unless you still are in school, in which case, I'm sure you're an honor student or something.

Seriously, though. I'd like to say a few things about this:
Thank you for lining up the images, and proving for me, that all of them are too imperfect to have been traced.
I'm wondering where you came up with the idea that I sampled colors from other photos, and how you came to the conclusion that they're the exact same ones in the pictures. As anyone should be able to see, the colors of the objects in the images are not even close to the ones in the drawing I did.
I was actually surprised how well I did Chrono, because I hardly did any measuring with that part. (and by measuring, I mean holding a long object, such as a pencil or a ruler up to my monitor- the same way I measured everything else in the drawing)
Good job finding those pictures on Google. I think I used pictures for three other things, but you didn't find them I guess.
It would've been nice of you to have supplied the picture of kirby, and the picture of megaman so that people would be able to see that megaman's colors are slightly off, and that kirby is missing pixels from the original image. (at least that's how I remember it being from when I was working on them)
I'm confused about one thing, though... What are you talking about proof I drew over images? Something about artifacts? Please see http://www.swmoore.com/paintproof.html - you will see how I explain the time consuming method I used to make the edges of some areas of the drawings smoother.
As for the people saying I'm lying because it ONLY took 100 hours: I was also surprised that the MS Paint drawing you're referring to took 500 hours of time. I didn't say for sure mine took 100 hours to finish, but I did say that's what I estimated the time it took to have been around. For all I know it could've taken 50 hours, and it could've taken 150 hours. I just said 100 because I thought about it, and that's around how much time it was most likely to have taken.
Also... Here's some things about the 500 hour MS Paint drawing... This guy openly used Photoshop to edit his drawing, which means, it's not even really a paint drawing. It's an MS Paint/Photoshop drawing. So stop comparing mine to his. Mine is an MS Paint drawing. His is an MS Paint/Photoshop drawing. That puts them in different catagories. bullshit. if you wanted to prove artifacts, why didn't you just zoom in yourself and take a screenshot. instead you suggest there are artifacts without actually proving anything.
second, you can't prove color sampling. For all you know, he used trial and error with hue levels to get the appropriate colors.
third he admitted to using stock images to draw from, and nothing here proves he didn't just line them up under the paint program and click between those and the canvas to copy everything as accurately as possible.

I am in the minority of the ignorant regarding the picture in question. You have a valid point because it is made up of existing and known images, why not create something original?
