This is a copy of my pharmacokinetics mid-term I just failed, let's see how you do:
You have 50 minutes.
Enjoy.
1) For a drug 30% free in the plasma, distributed extracellularly in the body, and 80% bound in the tissues, the apparent volume of distribution is?
2) From a linear plot of the number of moles of drug protein bound over the free drug concentration in mg/L, versus just the number of moles of drug protein bound, a slope equal to -0.76 and an intercept equal to 1.5 were obtained. What is the protein binding capacity of this drug?
3) To establish for the first time a certain dosing regimen, when is a loading dose reccomendable?
4) After a single bolus drug administration, when does distribution steady-state occur?
5) A given acidic drug with pKa = 5.5, what will blood plaslma preferentially partition into?
6) A daily dose of .22mg of a drug (t1/2 = 35H) has been administered to a 55Kg patient for several weeks with a recommended plasma concentration range of .5-1.5 micrograms /L. Under the suspicion of drug toxicity, a blood sample was assayed for drug content showing a concentration of 2.2 micrograms/L. When should a new corrected dosing regimen be started?
7) Following an intravenous bolus, the fraction of the dose remaining in the body after four elimination half-lives is equal to?
8)Plotting the logarithims of serum drug concentrations versus time, what is the intercept of a strain line equal to?
9) For a single bolus I.V. administration, drug concentrations were adequately described over time by the equation C(mg/ml) = 32e^-.18t. The maximum drug concentration in steady-state for a T.I.D. dosing regimen will be how many times larger than steady-state minimum concentration?
10) Administering a drug with an elimination half-life of 5.5 hours and a volume of distribution of 45L, the minimum expected concentration in steady-state for two 150mg bolus I.V. administrations per day is?

I will ask though, I'm curious as to whether an elimiation half life is how long the fluid stays in the body before making it down to the urinary tract for elimination.
Close, the elimination half-life is the amount of time it takes for the body to degrade exactly one half of the drug in the body.
For example: You take a 500mg Tylenol tablet. The half life is about say 5 hours. Your body will have degraded the 500mg into 250mg after the 5 hours.

being smart has nothing to do with this. maybe do something on general knowledge, not specific to one subject, instead of trying to get someone to do your homework or take a test for you.

Yeah, I'm bored at work and just looked up a bunch of the answers for these questions in an online text book and figured something out: These are the basic questions of the course, a course you shouldn't be taking if you are going to bomb the midterm when these questions are the mainpoints and highlights of the study. You won't be making shit for money if you can't pass the basics and that's a fact.

I don't know the answer to any of these questions. I guess I failed the test just like you did. However, I didn't pay the money to skip the classes in which the answers were made known. Further, since I don't need this knowledge in my daily affairs I did not waste my time learning the answers to these questions, instead investing it in gaining knowledge that will benefit me directly. I learned what I needed to learn and I passed my tests.
So after the test is over, I'm both smarter and richer than you.
And I always will be.
