I don't think I've ever established that real well so I've always gone with the noonish deadline. Right before I post the results I check the scores one last time to verify. since we have two rounds that are within .01 of each other I will leave it open as stated earlier.

HV- Gameknot is a free online chess site. Here < http://gameknot.com/ > Sign up. It has a great set up. There are quarterly tournaments, teams and other stuff like that. My ranking is in the tank because I had twenty games going on at once and got called out in the field, forfeiting them all. Before that I was at something like a 25 - 4 win loss ratio. I rarely play there anymore because I spend all my internet time on Uber. Let me know if you sign up and we'll play a game or two.
Also, I don't really hate the thing, I just bitch because I feel an obligation to do so. My ego demands it.

Her bf is pretty good, I never got to play him directly though. He was looking over her shoulder giving her advice which was really confusing on my end. People have different styles in chess, she would be playing one way and then suddenly switch to a completely different style leaving me to go "What the fuck? Oh her bf is helping...".
If you tell me what Gameknot is I would probably be willing to play.)

This was definitely a victim of reverse engineering, since he needed to have his first foray into the world of extermination at a time when Ziplock bags and vibrators were around, but I didn't want to dwell too long on his cobbling years. Just got back from work, and I'm doing dinner with a parental unit until 9:30 or 10.

Crystle had a great story idea, you lucked out. I think if she had been able to work from her original beginning or take more time with what she did post this would have been a pretty hotly contested match up.

I'm not sure what you mean there Crystal. In my scenario you will have replaced this drive as it was the primary disk or it was already a secondary drive. Either way after placing in the freezer (no I'm not kidding) put the drive in as a secondary (slave, additional, whatever you wants to call it) drive and then boot to the OS, windows?. Once in the OS look in my computer to see if you can see the contents of the drive. if so then you can copy the individual files you want to save, probably starting with the priceless pictures you don't care to lose cause this does not tend to work indefinitely. Try it or not. I just know that I have been able to recover data from several drives this way when I was working as a service tech.

I hate forfiets, they feel like the contest is no longer important to the forfeiter, and I didn't want to leave scourge high and dry like that.

I mean these to be frendly rivalries (sp?) and most of the time it stays that way. Brd -- I don't mind at all what you do with my ratings. I figured I would be viewed negatively because of my position and all given the situation, but I felt that I gave valid reasons for my reviews/ratings. Forgive me for being harsh during that period, but I'm an English T.A. and was grading papers all day, and maybe HV caught me at a bad time. But I will not concede my reviews/ratings as bogus or inflamatory, as I felt they were justified.
That being said, you are the ruler of the contest, I'm not in it anymore, and if it makes a difference and those that are involved don't mind, I don't care what you do with the ratings. All I care about is that my name doesn't get dragged through the mud for something I saw as legitimate.

HV. I hear and understand your concerns (You like that super ghey sensitive shit?). Her'es the thing, while it's true that aside from the DBAs wardy is the only to not +2, he rated you basically on the technical aspects of your writing. I tend, unless there are horrible, painful, mistakes to let that shit slide when it comes to a contest like this and instead focus on the story but since the rules don't specifically state that one should do that, wardy is somewhat entitled to chase it that way. I want a fair comp as I enjoy these greatly and nerd fighting like this somewhat hinders more of these being successful later as poeople get the taste of bile in thier mouths and shy away.
Again I reserve judgement for now and am offering another perspective. wardy feel free to join in the convo. I think your participation certainly added to the comp as I do generally enjoy your writing too. Yes. I am fence sitting and for now you're just going to have to deal with it. I would like to wait and see what happens with Thorns post because I've mentioned before that every time I've done adjustments nothing changed. I am willing to hear arguments/suggestions regarding dealing with wardy's ratings. IF Thorns really wants them dismissed I will do so, as the competitor if he makes a decision like this, that could be o his detriment, then I am willing to honor it. I do not want to be a hard ass but if this is not wholly resolved by the time the results are due to be posted I will make a decision and run with it. But Brdn you have to look at the ratings, besides the DBA's wardy is the only person who didn't rate it +2, and instead did a -2. When I docked wardy a point it was because the post was supposed to be based off of one thing (the premise of the contest), which it had nothing to do with. I feel that is a valid point.
The important thing to me is not whether I win or not, it's that people read my stuff and (hopefully) enjoy it.

I'm sure it's noticible that I haven't commented on the HV/wardy thing. I've reserved comment thus far for a couple of reasons. First in my past experience that's not the way wardy rolls. he specifically cited the reasons he rated the way he did and provided detailed examples. Second, on the other hand if you look at the exchange on the post in question as well as from the first round there is at least circumstantiol edivdence that makes it look retaliatory. BUT, in retaliation he is finding specific reasons to dock the post. HV, I don't believe that you had any nasty intentions in docking his post and ultimately I don't think your rating's presence or lack thereof would have changed things, but you were very specific on why you docked him and to many it was a small nit picky detail, just as wardy's complaints, when taken in whole, seem to be as well. I know it was consistent from you and certainly within your rights in regards to the interpretation of the goal of the contest but it does look somewhat minor. SOOO.....
