The stupidity of people continues to amaze me. This 13 year old girl from England gave birth to a kid that she didn't even realize that she was pregnant with yesterday.
Here's what she had to say about the ordeal: "I was screaming in pain and put it down to eating too much. I was screaming in pain and shouted, 'I've got to push something, it's coming!'"
She doesn't want the father of the child, a fifteen year old boy who impregnated her on her 13th birthday, to have anything to do with the new baby. She says he "wasn't the nicest boy in the world." He probably broke her wittle heart by sending her an immature breakup note that said, "I don't love you and I never will. Sorry." Or maybe he didn't return her call one night! *gasp* The kiddie drama!
Every year, about 3 or 4 of these stories pop up in the news. Now, this girl was young, so maybe it's just a *little* understandable. But, I read a story last year about a woman that was in her 20's that gave birth to a surprise baby, and I've just got to wonder--is it stupidity or denial?

I worked with a girl who was 6 months pregnant and had just found out. I asked her how she didn't notice the baby moving, she said she thought it was gas.

They showed this pic on ESPN and on the Daily Show. This girl fell from the top of the stacky stunt thingy, perhaps a pyramid...I don't know. Anyhow, she got hooked up to the stretcher and continued cheering. WTF is wrong with her?

On a completely unrelated note, I read the other day that about 2000 woman each year have 3+ abortions. That's here in NZ, population 4 million? I think.... Census was yesterday.... imagine what that figure must be like in other countries.

My cousin was 18 or 19, and a few months into her freshman year of college and she gave birth to a son, and claimed she did know she was pregnant. It was her second child. You would think she'd notice the symptoms.

My friend's sister had a baby, she knew about it. about 15 months later she gave birth again, this time on her bathroom floor getting ready for work. She had been doing drugs in the time between the first and second baby, so she didn't gain more weight than would make her look normal if she was sober. I can atest, I saw her in a bathing suit 3 days before she delivered the 6 lb. full term baby girl. Although her and her husband lost custody due to the drugs and not getting prenatal treatment.
