Hope I got everything right here. We had two VERY close rounds in round three but in the end there is a victor, or maybe his name was vinnie, whatever. Thanks again for playing. Well I have held the stoeger coach shotgun, it really isn't that big. You could hold it in one hand and fire it accurately but I understand you don't want the person turned to a fine mist. I assumed you wanted to make sure it was a one shot kill because that would be what I wanted if someone was in my home with my baby son.
Well if you are worried about blood spattering, don't forget that .22 and .22 longs are perfect for that. They enter and have no exit wound normally, so there is a lot less to clean up. Might need to fire twice to really stop someone big though, but it is cleaner than anything else. The Beretta Bobcat I showed you is (I believe) a great .22 for that. Anywho those might work for an indiscrimnate protection pistol. Whoever gets shot WILL fall to the ground screaming probably, but most likely will survive unless you hit something vital. It gives you plenty of time to laugh at them and step on their wound.

You know the Walther PPk that Bond carried? This is similar. Very nice gun. In that class I suggest the Target P22 because it looks extra vicious and will scare off people easier.

Just something big enough that when the slug hits their chest their forward motion stops. I don't need to be cleaning lung matter off my walls for the entire following week.
The .44 and the .357 might be overkill. I want them to live so I can laugh at them in court when they get wheeled in. I also can't use the shotgun or the rifles. Too big and bulky for home protection purposes, plus the buckshot at close range would disintegrate the person. Again, mess and death are concerns here.
Does that narrow it down enough for you?

A short barreled 12 guage Stoeger shotgun never fails to put fear into would-be burglers. Not too fancy, not to expensive. It just works when you need it to.

No inaccuracy here young one. I'm a damn good shot. I just have no reason to shoot. Range is boring, I don't hunt, murder of ones enemies is frowned upon, the list goes on. I'm going out and getting one single solitary piece to protect my house with and that will be it.

That's cool Crystle. I figured that may be what it was. I was trying to show some wavering, some instability on the part of the character and I wasn't able to translate it very well from my mind through the BlackBerry.

I considered that because a path of retirubution would easily double the length and it does have to end at some point but the end just felt really flat compared to the rest.

I'm not asking you to change your rating. I had two options to end that, 1) would go on and on and on or 2) Just end the mother fucker.
Since I didn't think I would win anyways I just ended it.
A 22 to the head would kill you just as fast as any other gun. Hell a BB to the head could do that if shot through the temple.
I only comment because I am a firearms fiend and I also advocate safety. People shouldn't mess around with low caliber weapons and assume they are safer just because of small rounds. They will kill you just as easily as anything else.

I liked it HV and the caliber was not truly the issue I just thought it needed more. all the way through your character is fighting emotion, fear, anger and then all of a sudden he kills himslf.
As far as a 22 not killing, I don't dispute but I would think it a slower and more painful death also more prone to error, just my opinion, again that was not really the issue i was raising.

Brdn you commented that a 22 wouldn't kill someone.
22 calibers are generally used by people who do not want to leave blood around the crime scene. A 22 will enter your body and kill you just like any other caliber, it just won't have an exit wound. Especially a 22 to the head which will take shattered bone and skull tissue with it and through the brain tissue.
If you want to question my knowledge of weaponry go ahead but I assure you I am accurate.

c1ndy, this is the second one of these that I did with little drama. The only real drama we've had besides the drive by raters was a brief stint between wardy and HV and that worked itself out, hopefully without ill feelings. I really have been impressed by the posts that have come from this and Ubertines and will miss having good stuff to look forward to when it's over. hopefully UM starts soon.
