I started off really liking ETS. I like his ideas. They are very similar to my own. However, the more fringe you become, the more it begins to sound like anarchy, and eco-terrorism, and rebellion for rebellion's sake. What he should be doing is working hard, trying to get into an ivy league school, amassing a fortune and preparing for a bid for mayor of his city, then governor, then President. Along the way, with the right attitude, you can change a lot of people's opinions, but I've never seen anyone change another person's mind through a belligerent show of verbal force. It only works in movies like Fight Club, which although I loved it, is a work of pure fiction.
I am taking an environmental science class (on top of the fire academy) and there is a guy in my class who reminds me in every way of ETS. He has the same shaggy, long hair style, the exact same opinions, and although he's intelligent, he's very militant and confrontational with other people in the class when discussing ideas. He comes off as a know-it-all hippy, and I know from what other people in the class have said that it's annoying. I've taken to talking with the guy (since our opinions are virtually identical) and trying to show him there are other ways to engage people in debate that bring them around to your side. He is a new breed of hippy. The militant, confrontational hippy ... the mippy, if you will.
Threatening people and trying to act like you're some sort of internet Tyler Durden is only going to serve to get you arrested, and put into a position where you really can't fight the system because it has a stranglehold on your life. I hope this helps out some of the liberal left who want to have a chance of actually being able to talk with and get along with people who belong to the right.
Just because I agree with the message doesn't mean I like the speaker. I find out a lot of the time that the people I really like happen to be conservative republicans, and the people who annoy me tend to be whiney liberal democrats. Just something to think about.

I started off really liking ETS. I like his ideas.
Now what was it again you liked? ETS or his ideas? By the shear limitation of what we see, read or experience here you can't be able to like a person in my opinion. The way we go about achieving our ideas has nothing to do with Über-impressions but with reality.
I hope you will find your own way in real life.

i was actually going to write a post to discuss things with ets, but then i realised it as te total complete waste of time it is. this post is also shit, because it lends a validity to his ridiculous claims and methods.

Reform don't work; I think it's time we tried revolt,
but I don't got the guts to jump up and go first,

For all you know, ETS doesn't exist. He's on the internet. He could be anyone- a 14 year old girl or a 50 year old man with AIDS. Who cares if he fucks his life up? Who would care if he was provably real anyway? You can't care about someone you've never met, or you'll get sand in your pussy or something. I dunno, I lost the metaphor. However, if he were real, you would have a good point.

I agree, but the whole 'go to an ivy league school...' thing doesn't work out in reality.
Those are the places that mold the people that run the machine. Trust me on that.

+1 for not posting the retard picture that says arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics.
while that adds up to +2, i really didnt find this post all that entertaining.

You're still stuck in that whole left/right false dichotomy? Super weak.
