While I wouldn't say they stole ALL their good stuff from Mustaine, they did steal some. I will say that Megadeth is better than Metallica though and I certainly agree that their later stuff sucks. Kill Em All is by far their best album.

What's sad is that Godsmack opened for them (Pittsburgh, September 2004), and they kicked more ass than Metallica did. The problem with Hetfield isn't the drugs (or lack thereof). The problem with Hetfield is that he's a sellout. He doesn't take enough pride in his music where he'll feel comfortable changing things up. We've all heard Enter Sandman about a million times. If you go to a Metallica concert, you're going to hear the same cookie-cutter music they're used to shitting out on a regular basis. A real performer doesn't play just what he thinks the audience wants to hear.
A real performer makes the old songs new again. They make their audience experience the music, not simply remember it.
At least Sully will get on the drums and show up his own drummer. Fuck Hetfield.

Well yes mate, but you haven't done that at all have you? The info you've supplied is fairly well known already. if you really wanted to actually educate people you could've included something more in depth such as how Kirk Hammit was taught how to play Guitar by the legendary Joe Satriani (the same guy who taught Steve Vai) or somesuch.
Instead you've just done a rather drab "This is Lars, he plays drums. This is James, he sings the songs..." routine that is neither intresting nor greatly informative.

Meh. I was in high school when Metallica was starting out. They were the underground band of choice for whiney white boys "bucking" the establishment.
I didn't like them then. Now, there are a FEW tracks they've laid down that I enjoy (Orion) but by and large, Metallica will NEVER qualify to be the greatest band that ever was.
