Stuck. Stuck in my dorm room. Going crazy in the brain insane. Surrounded by noise. A wall of sound battering my head and driving me to sleeplessness. I want only peace and rest, but I get the dull throb of bass, gum chewing, the mumble of newscasters and drunken sailors. Gum chewing idiots try to sound like a whole field of cattle working away on their cud. Insanity. My sense of smell is also abused. The scent of dust and sweat, feet and farts, pizza and the vile breath of the hungover. It is the scent of a thousand frat houses, a hundred bachelor pads, and a handful of winos thrown in for good measure. I am sick of the smell of microwaved enchiladas and empty beer cans. I want fire and fists. Burn down this offensive hell hole and knock every offensive bastard into the flames. You talkin' too loud? C'mere! Trying to show your buddies how good "The Humpty Dance" sounds on you stereo? Get the fuck over here! Or worse yet: ARE YOU FUCKING CHEWING WITH YOUR MOUTH OPEN?! Dive! Dive I say! Head first into the flames! I will dance joyously around the fire, letting the smoke pour around me. The scent of pepperoni pizza and dirty gym shorts will be washed away in the cleansing heat of the burn pile. Die offensive noise makers, offensive scents, all those things that keep sleep, sweet sleep, from my tired body. Die and I will rest easy on the ashes.
Sorry, but I am really fucking tired. Military dorms are not made for the light sleeper.
