Remember the Smurfs? Buncha little blue elf-y things that ran around and said "smurf" alot? They all had names directly coresponding to their disposition or their talent. As I recall, they lived in little mushroom houses. Then there was this crazy old dude named Gargamel. At first I think he wanted to eat them, but then later he got this idea that he could use them to make gold or some such horseshit. Wasn't the cat named Azreal? Someone once told me that the original "Smurfs" were from a French comic strip and it had a great deal of sexual content.
Hmmm...
Anyhow, I can't remember the origin of Smurfette. Did Gargamel create her? Why did the wacky old bastard do that? And if he could make smurfs, why couldn't he make gold??? Wasn't there a little girl smurf with red hair, too? Fuck, I don't remember...

I just pictured Smurfette's dress and hat being made out of a sheer material. Mostly for added sexiness. I wanted to be able to show visible panty lines, so you would obviously have to see some of the blond hair through the hat. Just an ascestic thing...

Teeph - Actually, a friend of mine wanted revisionist illustrations of "The Power Puff Girls" done as sexy teenagers for his website. This lead to me doing a whole series of drawings of childhood cartoon's reimagined. I did "He-Man," "Thundercats," and I number of others that I can't remember due to alcohol consumption...

I'm not what they call a religious type. I own a Bible, but mostly it just helps hold up the other books. Same with the Koran and the Torah. They're on the shelf, I've even read them, just nothing really stuck with me. Now they grow dusty.
