TORONTO — Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh will miss the rest of the season with a sprained left thumb.
Bosh suffered the injury in a 125-116 overtime loss at Milwaukee on March 26. He has missed the last five games, including Wednesday night's game at Indiana.<
Bosh's injury was re-evaluated by team doctors and it was recommended that he sit out the remainder of the season to avoid a more serious injury.
"We are disappointed that Chris will not be able to return this season, but this is the safest and most practical course of action to allow the time necessary for his injury to heal properly," Raptors president and general manager Bryan Colangelo said.
Bosh averaged a team-best 22.5 points and 9.2 rebounds in 70 games this season.
