http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/04/17/telaviv.blast/index.html -- So I just got done reading this. Summary? Something about a Palestinian terrorist group claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing outside a Tel Aviv restaurant. The Palestinian President denounced the attack, Hamas supported it. Israel sent a few rockets at a building later in the day, but claimed they weren't retaliation for the attacks. There's some other stuff in there, but I wouldn't have provided a link if I could remember it all. That being said...

I'm not going to try and bullshit you. Well, probably not. It might slip in here and there but that's only because I've stopped tripping off of those tablets I found underneath the kitchen sink. But other than that, most of this should be mostly to the point. I'm just kidding - I really have no idea where this could end up. What you need to know right now is the following: 1) this is going to be mostly political and 2) I probably won't reach any conclusions which will probably leave you feeling empty.

What I don't understand is what Hamas is gaining by not condemning the attacks? To me, it'd be much more to their advantage (financially, anyways) to denounce the attacks and violence in general. As a result the United States along with what I assume is a plethora of other Western nations to resume sending aid and recognize them as a sovereign nation. As it stands, they are simply gaining favor with those in the Middle East, which is all well and good for getting re-elected, but eventually Israel's counter-attacks will escalate. I really have a hard time believing Palestine could handle a war against the Western-funded Israeli state. At least, the last time they went to war they showed up riding camels and the Israelis had something like tanks and rockets. I'm pretty sure not much has changed.

From what I can tell, there are certain Middle East nations that feel a certain need to puff up their chests and posture themselves in a manner that generates national pride, but for the most part makes things a lot more difficult for the rest of us. To me, a nuclear-armed Iran means about as much as a nuclear-armed North Korea. Neither of which I want, but neither of which really threaten me. I live in an area of the United States that is more likely to be the target of a mass cow-tipping or something equally absurd, rather than face a massive assault by either terrorists or Japanese kamikaze samurais.

I don't even know if samurais still exist. I seem to recall a movie being made about their extinction, but I'm almost positive it was a work of fiction.

In the event that the dollar really isn't worth anything, does that mean I can buy whatever I want for nothing? Because if that's the case, SIGN ME UP MOTHER FUCKERS!!! But seriously, if it's true that our economy is awful and that it's going to shit, then I have one question: why is my life so fucking sweet? Last I checked I had a job, an apartment, an education, and a Siberian husky. Siberian Huskies are a sign of wealth in some cultures because you can eat them. That's just in case you wanted to know how to become wealthy in some cultures, not to brag.

Okay, I wanted to brag a little. He's cool like ice cream. Well, melting ice cream I guess, because regular ice cream is cold. And he's not cold because he's Siberian and they don't get cold because they have to deal with permafrost. And if you've ever talked to a Siberian, they all say the same thing: You're not cold until you've had to fuck on permafrost.

It seems like everyone thinks the Iraq war was a political maneuver designed to bolster the Defense Department's agenda and steal oil. I'm all for people having their own opinions on the subject, but I tend to remember a different Iraq. It was the one with the leader that refused to comply with UN sanctions and had every opportunity to step down in order to keep the U.S. and Coalition friends from invading. I'm not saying that's what he should have done, I'm just saying the whole thing could have been prevented and he'd still have faced the same trial. If he really cared about his people, isn't that the route he should've taken? Hindsight, I guess.

Yeah, I'm all for openly voicing your political opinions. It's one of the sweet deals we get with this whole democracy thing we've got going (okay, okay, I know it's technically a republic, but stop confusing things that don't need to be.) The problem with criticizing those in power is that I think we often forget just how hard of a job it really is. Of course they don't have to run for office, way to state the obvious. Let's just assume for a the next few sentences that they were bored on a Saturday and thought it'd be a good idea to run for office. I imagine that once they've taken office they know a lot more than we do with regards to foreign and domestic threats, and when they know what they know, and they have to protect the nation as best they can, I imagine things become pretty difficult. So far, I can't say I'd make a different decision than any President in the history of the United States if I was subject to the same knowledge as they were at the time. Sure, this might make me a giant buffoon, but I'm pretty sure you already knew that.

I guess you could say I'm apathetic. Or maybe I understand the nature of things. Or maybe it just means I have a grasp on my role in society. Sure I can protest. I guess I could withhold my federal taxes, but that'd be completely unoriginal (not to mention I have no idea how to track it down through the US Postal Service. I wish I had a friend like Newman. How long do you think I can stay in parentheses before anyone notices?)

Either way, most people think I'm tight. That or they think I suck, I'm not really sure. I guess I haven't really talked with a lot of people lately - well real people anyways. Do chat rooms count? Cause if they do I'm up to like at least four or five (and I didn't have to use any real alcohol!) Thanks for playing,

wardy.

Actually things have changed a bit. The ragheads are now riding turbo charged camels.
And the Israelis are fielding the new and improved Markava Mk IV, which makes the American abrams look like a Pinto with a pellet gun.

He may have come up with the recipe, but I came up with the idea of
