My parents got a new puppy--she's a Corgi named Meeko. She's 9 pounds, which means she's outweighed by our four kitties. I'm terribly exhausted from waking up to check on her in her crate all night. I just have the vision of our cats sitting atop the cage like vultures until she drifts off to sleep, then they make their move. Stealth kitties.
AND SHE PEES OUTSIDE! You have no idea how excited I am about this. She's going to be a good dog, and she's already very much loved.

Jesus people. Pets don't necessarily mean that a house smells like pee and crap. Seriously. We have 3 cats that are indoor/outdoor, which means they only sleep inside when it's dark out, the other cat is a fully indoor cat, and I keep his litterbox spotless. This new puppy smells because we haven't given her a bath yet (we don't want to freak her out with so many new things).
It probably would be smelly if we lived in a small house or an apartment, but we don't. This house has an open floor plan and three levels and is cleaned almost every other day.
The only room that actually smells is my brother's room, which is upstairs. But that's because he's a 17 year old boy.

I tend to enjoy the pet posts, but somehow this one was very . . . lacking.
Maybe it's the small breed dog. I agree with Wookie on that. Kill it. Kill it soon.
If a well placed kick actually sends your dog flying, your dog is too small. If your dog looks at you like, "Dude? WTF?" after the aforementioned well placed kick, your dog is about the right size.

Nope. Meeko is actually the name of the raccoon from Pocahontas. I wanted to name her Radar because of her ears, and we were having the worst time picking out names. My little sister and I just finally picked some names we both liked, then gave the list to my mom and she picked the official name.
It was going to be Puddles, so that we could say, "Watch out for Puddles" when people came into our house. Double meaning. Harhar.
