I think real estate helps the environment and provides a good past time.
I don't know...call me crazy, but that's what people "do" in LA. I'd like to try to figure out how to respond to Kit's message querying what to do in LA, since her boyfriend dumped her, etc., but I am not that advanced yet.
I am from NY, and before I moved here, I would do what everyone else does in the city: walk the streets. So, what did I go and do? I moved to LA to be a doc at Cedars-S.
So, since I get off at 6 or 7 and don't go out to eat EVERY SINGLE night, since every restaurant you go to (even the best ones!) are FULL of salty foods that is basically 200-300 times the amount of sodium you should take in for dinner, I decided to look for properties to invest in.. I soon realized financing is the key. A real estate agent is blah...they are very salesy, and hardly expact repeat business because they make so much fricking money on each transaction. So, I relied on my mortgage broker... Financing is key, key, key!! Why? Of course there are the obvious reasons, like you can't make it happen if you can't borrow the money, but there is the less sales-oriented aspect of a truly knowledgeable "financial advisor," or sorts that has helped me tremendously.
