Without intelligence, there is no difference between your poor attempt at deep thought and total bullshit.

To whomever it was that spent one American dollar on the Uberboard - and I realize that for some of you, this represents a huge percentage of your weekly bring home pay - I am currently working on a new post and expect to have to finished, complete with new camwhore to use on all of your photoshop projects, sometime between Thursday and September 4th.

Please, Shlongy asks for your patience. Thank you.

i think rebellion implies free will, while submission doesnt. so i dont think that really makes sense because if there is rebellion, it is not the case that there is no free will.
-------
unless you rebel cuz you're told to. and for that matter, a lot of rebellions start because the people that get into them think they have no choice any more which would imply there's no free will.
----------------------------------

quite a mindjob, is it not?

------------------

Are you ass clowns completely retarded? That doesn't even apply here. It's a very simple statement. If you have no free will then rebellion is just the same as submission, because it's not you that is rebelling. You are submitting to whatever is making you rebel.

You need to define free will before even having a discussion of this nature, which you haven't done and I don't expect that you will.

However, this was funny:

but you have to consider what rebellion is -- conscious deviance from the normal means and goals of society. submission would be to adhere to those norms. somewhere, there has to be free will to allow for rebellion or rebellion would never be initiated. At least on a broad level this is true.

When it comes down to the individual, if you're told to rebel and you follow instructions, it's not rebellion. It is submission. But to submit when you're told to rebel IS rebellion, not submission. this might be DOS's point, but there is still a distinction between the two. you can at the same time submit and rebel.

Spiritual enlightenment is surrendering to the moment. Thinking is fighting against the now, because all thoughts are either memories of the past or projections of the future. Most people spend their whole lives thinking, except for a few occasions when they are forced into the present, like when mountainclimbing, or when witnessing something like child birth. If you can bring your attention completely into this moment right now, stop struggling away and just surrender to it, all thoughts will disolve.
