Before we get to Round Two let's recap Round One.
Round One:
Ottawa, New Jersey, San Jose all made short work of their series.
And despite winning two games I thought Philly was outmatched by Buffalo in the New My NHL.
The surprises were Colorado taking Dallas and Edmonton over Detroit. WookieSuave has the only distinction of taking Edmonton.
Montreal put up a good fight against Carolina but a goaltending switch and the loss of Captain K seemed to be too much for Les Habitants to handle.
****Calgary and Anaheim was my favorite series to watch. I love game sevens, but I thought last night's game was the worst of the series. I picked up some points with Anaheim winning, they are my new team.

Ottawa vs. Buffalo:
*** Series to watch. This will be fun, fast and furious. I really think Ottawa will come out on top but I believe it'll come down to how Emery performs, he won't have to be Amazing, he'll just have to be good, but he can't be awful. Buffalo's offense in nothing to laugh at, ask the Flyers. Ottawa in 6.
Carolina vs. New Jersey:
You heard it here first. New Jersey will finally lose a game. But damn do they look good. Can Ward keep up his play? Not enough to out shine Brodeur. I think it'll go the distance but the Devils will come out on top. Jersey in 7.
The West.
San Jose vs. Edmonton:
Another great match-up it would have been nice to watch the battle of Alberta, but this is the series in the West that I'm definitely going to stay up for. I think San Jose's offence is too much for Edmonton, but don't count them out the Oilers have game. San Jose in 6.
Anaheim vs. Colorado:
Well with my Habs out of the playoffs I need a new team to cheer for. Even though I was disappointed in the game seven last night, I'm glad Anaheim won. They have been a blast to watch in the previous 6 games. Beauchemin's lefty shot on Iginla was a nice touch. I'm going for Anaheim the rest of the way. I think both of Anaheim's goalies will out perform an emerging Theodore. No more OT magic for Colorado. Anaheim in 5.

Oops. Well, I got ONE series right. Edmonton picked up Pronger and Peca specifically to win in the postseason, and it looks like that was a heck of a move. First time a #8 seed made it this far since they went to the new format in 1994.
That Carolina vs Buffalo series should be a lot of fun. I am looking forward to watching some of those games.

Sharks peaked too early and really appeared to be out of gas in both games 4 and 5...And the first line has been shut down pretty much totally by Edmonton's speed.
That fucking Pronger just has ALWAYS had San Joses' number.
Mrs. Shlongy and I have already committed to seeing a game in either Buffalo or Carolina if SJ makes it to the finals...money, of course, never being an object when it comes to road trips.

Well, just for ease of documentation, here are my picks for this round. I know I'm a little late, but I yanked them out of the previous post. Some of them aren't looking so good right now. What the hell happened to Marty Brodeur?
Eastern conference:

the MTL-Caro series was a blast to watch too, 3 OT games, 6-5 scoring and even for a 2-1 game, game 6 was awesome.
I was really disappointed in last nights game seven, but the whole series was fantastic in my view, tons of hitting, and the camera man ahad a tough time following the speed of the puck, both goalies played really well. though selanne has kipper's number short side.
im going to try and buy game 7 tickets Ott/buff and make the trip if the series goes that long. don't know who im rooting for in that series

I thought the most boring series was between Calgary and Anaheim. They have NO offense! There was like one shot per period. :-| We tried to watch it last night and prefered watching COPS translated in french instead...which is pretty bad.
The last game between the Habs and the Canes' was one hell of a show. The crowd was jumping up and down on their chair in this nail biting game. Too bad it ended this way.
Props to the Canes for coming back this way.
Now on to prediction...
