NEW USA PEACE PLAN....
I see a lot of people yelling for peace, but I have not heard one plan for peace. "Books not Bombs" won't work. The head mullahs won't let anyone read them. If they do, they poke their eyes out.
So let's see how the world like's this U.S. plan for peace.....
1) The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, and the rest of them 'good old boys'. We promise to never "interfere" again.
2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence.
3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are.
4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself, don't hide here. Asylum would not ever be available to anyone.
5) No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes or if the get a "D", it's back home baby.
6) The US will become completely self sufficient energy wise. This will require temporary but immediate drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will just have to cope.
7) We will offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we will go someplace else. Let them deal with the economic consequences of losing the world's largest consumer of oil as their prime customer.
8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we promise, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever for seeds, rain, cement, or whatever humanitarian aid they need. Besides, most of what we give them is stolen or given to their army anyway.
9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. It will do about as much good buried away there as it has at the center of the world's stage.... absolutely none.

Melbourne, Australia. I went to boarding school in Germany and then lived in Amsterdam for a while.
It's not hard to learn when you speak English and German fluently, and live with a Dutch girl, and all your friends are Dutch. I can't believe how poor my Dutch has become. I never get to use it.

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!! Your dutch is still great! Your using a little to much double 'e's though. Where are you from?? And what the hell possessed you to ever learn Dutch??
(btw:I'm currently reading up on American and Western Europe's foreign policy, from both sides. I'm slowly rebuilding my ideas and opinion on the matter, but any recommendations would be great.)

Nator - Jonge, jonge, jonge... Americans hebben dat niet graag, dat weet je wel, mijneer!!! Zij hebben geen idee. Altijd. En willen ook geen krijge.
They also love using "jealous" a lot, and referencing things that have happened in the past as a way to deal with current policy issues. Wat zullen wij doen? Wat is mogelijk?
Don't bother taking them on, they are very well rehearsed and have not normally concerned themselves with the other points of view until they beleive it. Noam Chomsky is a one-in-two-hundred-and-fifty million. Ook en jood.
(Maak mij nieet kwaalijk, ik heb voor 10 jaar geen Nederlands gepraat, en heb ik de heele taak vergeeten.)

Ok, I'm gonna stop posting or replying to anything even remotely political. I keep switching between different political views, because it never lasts long until someone rapes me and totally proves me wrong. I'm just gonna wait here and let other people try to convince me, because basically I get much to riled up about these things.
I still dislike America's foreign policy. I still think they are top on the list of countries who break international treaties, have a corrupt government and media, and don't go out of their way to kill civilians to get wealth. In whatever form. Why?
Well, my other option is accepting every government everywhere is corrupt, and 99% of humanity is being raped over by a wealthy 1% and their governments. You may very well tell me this is true. Or, that Western European foreign policies are just as bad as American's. Frankly, I've never seen anyone mention this or try to prove this - but I'm not so naive to think that eredicates the possibility of it being true.
I try to educate myself on these subjects. I've read some of Naom Chomsky's work (war is peace, slavery is freedom, strength is ignorance), and lot's of internet sources. One of them is
http://www.theboywhocriediraq.com
Which is where I stole the list of military operations from.
I admit I didn't check them (the list). You could elaborate on some of them. Ok.
Hell, I try to read up on both sides of the argument; but look around yourself. It's not often that I see any substantial editorial or book defending America. And if there are a lot of them, they certainly aren't easy to get. I think that's funny, because it might mean I've become the unwilling victim of a totally biased media and community, of which I often accuse America of having.
I'm out of my league here; I have no idea what to believe now. And to top it off, Sister Act 2 is on TV. This sucks.
Anyway, I still think this post is stupid. Whoopi Goldberg is ugly.
"I have an idea: Tell us what country you are from, and I will tell you the "good" things they have done for this world. A simple fact, there is no country in the world, other than the US, that has done as much to improve our way of life."
I'm from Holland. And to what does 'our' in 'our way of life' refer to? The world population? Or the Western World?

Nator is ignorant if he bought into that. You are right, the best place is to be in the middle. I'm right there, I just seem to be all alone. Most people, like nator, are on opposite sides of the extremist views. I may have come off all gun ho for America, I know we have made our mistakes, but, the good we have brought this world Greatly out weighs them.

I don't think Nator is ignorant, I don't think the list is his work either.
I think he's from the Netherlands somewhere, not certain though. What we must remember is that there are always two sides of the same coin - while the American media/information's portrayal of Americans as democratic warriors fighting for the freedom of others isn't true - neither is the seemingly commonplace idea that Americans are all capitalistic imperials bent on ruling the world. Such is not the case - we are not bad people. We are not evil. There are extremes opposites to any subject, and the correct place to be is somewhere in the middle.

"I don't see how that has anything to do with anything."
I actually have to fucking explain? Are you joking??
You where saying that we should appologize for the "innocents" killed in the action of war. I am making the point that without U.S. involvment in the world, well, there might not be any "world". Let's not forget that before germany fell, they where YEARS ahead of our technology for the a-bomb. Things only changed when we got involved and their scientist defected to us.
Now you cannot be that ignorant to believe that the world is BETTER off with the US.
I have an idea: Tell us what country you are from, and I will tell you the "good" things they have done for this world. A simple fact, there is no country in the world, other than the US, that has done as much to improve our way of life.

<PHILIPPINES, 1898 - 1910: seizes from Spain, 600,000 Filipinos killed
PUERTO RICO, 1898: seizes from Spain
>
American rule was a lot better than Spanish rule - US improvements to the Phillipines, Cuba, and Puerto Rico made those areas a lot better than the heaps of shit they were under Spanish colonial rule. How come the Americans grabbing the Phillipines back from the Japanese in World War 2 isn't mentioned? Oh that's right, it must have been because we wanted all the oil in the Phillipines.
<PANAMA, 1901 - 14: separates country from Colombia and annexes canal zone >
The people of Panama wanted to be independent of Columbia - all the US did was institute some good old fashioned Gun Boat diplomacy. This is condemned as if it is something novel and unheard of - matter of fact, it isn't, and other countries would have done the same thing if only they had the ability.
<JAPAN, 1945: firebombs Tokyo and other cities, drops atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki >
Oh, it's not as if the United States was at war with Japan or anything - it's not as if the US would have lost hundreds of thousands of lives in an invasion of Nippon. If you're going to mention World War 2 atrocities committed by allies, at least mention Dresden - if you don't, you make yourself (or whoever made this list) look like a fool.
<KOREA, 1950 - 53: US and South Korea fight China and North Korea to stalemate. US threatens to use nuclear bombs. At least two million Korean civilians killed or wounded >
Who invaded whom? Notice, North Koreans were on the verge of overrunning South Korea until Inchon landing. No, nuclear weapons were not a plausible threat during the Korean War, in fact, Truman fired popular general Douglas McArthur because of strategy disagreements. After all, McArthur espou sed, "No war except total war", a policy which Truman was staunchly against.
<GULF WAR, 1990 - 91: US-led coalition kills 100,000 Iraqis. Post war sanctions kill an estimated one million civilians in the following ten years
>
Ah.. not like the Iraqis invaded Kuwait or anything.
<IRAQ, 1998: four days of air strikes, raids continue until present day >
Sure - not like they were killing their own people or anything heinous like that.
<SERBIA 1989: 78 days of NATO air strikes >
Yeah, it's all the fault of those fucking Kosovars! The lying American media has portrayed them as being victims of a systematic genocide! What a hoax!
<AFGHANISTAN, 2001: US-led war kills thousands >
Good point, the Taliban was up for the Oppressive Regime of the Year award, and Al-Quaeda certainly didn't have a hand in numerous terrorist activites around the globe. That, and it's shitty how Afghani men and women can do things that only capitalist devils do, like eat and go to movie theaters.
<IRAQ, 2002/3: ... "" >
*Loud sigh*
Sure, the US acts to give itself a better handle in the world - what else is it supposed to do? The main reason people condemn American 'imperialism' is because frankly, their country is not capable of doing the same thing. Just look at the first and second age of imperialism - France, Sweden, Russia, Holland, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Britain, and Japan have historically been all about imperialism - but now that they don't have the muscle to do it - they don't. We could pull up huge lists of atrocities committed by Western Europe through the course of history - but it wouldn't matter any more than this list does.

I don't see how that has anything to do with anything. Neither I nor anyone else involved or even mentioned Germany in this. I'm not comparing them. He simply stated something sarcastically, and I thought I'd elaborate on 'interferences'.
I simply think it's a little hypocrite to only mention "You know, Hitler, Mussolini, and the rest of them 'good old boys'." I thought I'd give you the bigger picture.

Actually the largest untapped oil reserves lie in Syberia up in Russia and also at the bottom of the ocean.
Someone half-way there.(siberia) it's alright, atleast you know this. It is projected that the oil field, (which as of last fall started to be drilled), contains as much oil, as the med sea hold water!! So if the oil in alaska ran out, which in 5-10 years it would, (we really don't know how much is up there until we drill it), we would offer the money to russia. Russia, impoverished as all hell, would LOVE to take the offer FROM THE LARGEST CONSUMER OF OIL IN THE FUCKING WORLD!!

The Alaskan reserve could be great, but I honestly thing the largest oild reserve is the Middle east. This oil well drains under Isreal, but it is so deep it is near impossible to get at, and if Isreal were to tap this oil, then the rest of the Middle Eastern crountries would lose their industry.

That plan rocks. Sure the oil in alaska wouldn't last long. Even though it might be the largest reserve in the world. Changes within america would take effect too. auto makers would have no choice but to market those extremely energy efficient cars that they have developed and not released. We would no longer need crusading armies outside the borders. if someone wants our help they can plead it to the american people and we can have a national vote.
