The boot of the car was opened by one of the Dogs pals, who had been with the group since the initial beating in the pub but who Scott had only just registered as being there. He'd seen him before many times and had seen what he was capable of doing to people. But tonight he was just doing leg work for the Dog. He played with the catch on the boot lid and then stepped back as it popped open.

Lying on his side in the boot but with his eyes open was the lad; he looked like a scared kitten sitting at the back of a cat carrier, afraid of where he was being taken. His eyes were striking, they were wide open and staring, there was almost a fire burning in them and illuminated them from behind like an expensive timepiece.

Dean felt a sense of power, of supremacy. Here was a person whose life was entirely in their hands, and he knew it too. He had a resigned look on his face as if he'd accepted his fate and was either too tired or in too much pain to complaint and fight for his life. They were about to end his existence and it was their choice as to how and when it would happen. If they made it easy or difficult for him or if they made him suffer or put him out of his misery. There was definitely a high that this gave you like no other he had experienced.

Scott felt a sense of panic and of pity. The fucker was so scared that he most probably wanted to die right now so that the fear would go away. This must have been why the Jews wandered to their slaughtered so easily; hopelessness that whatever they did nothing would change the outcome or an acceptance that this was their fate and miserable though it was it wasn't in their realm to decide any different.

It made him sick to his stomach and it was only when he turned slightly to his left and vomited that anyone else there realised he was feeling this way.

"Get a fucking grip you silly cunt" Someone said.
"Ain't seen a bit of blood before now Scotty boy?"

It was still games to them, still one upmanship. You didn't back down, you didn't show fear; you followed the pack like a good sheep should.

Scott coughed up the bile in the back of his throat and spat the debris in his mouth onto the floor. People shuffled feet uncomfortable, not wanting the same thing to happen to them.

The Dog leaned forward and addressed the lad in the boot. "You see that you fucking piece of shit? you see what you made Scott do you miserable cunt? Just looking at you makes us all want to be puke, the sooner I put you out of your misery the fucking better"

With that he pulled a handgun out from somewhere about his person. Not one of those present had seen a gun before, not in real life of course. For damn sure the lad lying in the boot hadn't as the look on his face changed again, this time for the last time.

It looked like he wanted to cry.

The kid looked out from the confines of the car boot. In the foreground he saw the man who had beaten him so badly in the pub and in the background just faces. One he was sure he recognised as he'd bought coke from him before. Scott he thought and he seemed to remember that he quite liked him, always looked smart and said hello when he saw him in the pub.

He thought about his brother and the look that had been on his face back in the pub. That was what had frightened him the most about the whole attack, which was when he knew it was serious. That point when he saw the sheer horror on his brother's face. You hope to never see that look on anyone's face let alone a relative. His face had said goodbye.

Then he thought of Mum and Dad and realised that was difficult, they had always been proud of him despite the fact that he took the piss a little bit, borrowed money and didn't work too hard. But they loved him and were satisfied with their lot, with their boy. It would break their hearts.

He felt himself being lifted from the car boot and dropped onto the concrete floor.

Pain is relative he realised.

You didn't find this out in day to day life and you probably didn't need to, however if you suffered severe enough pain for a prolonged period you became accustomed to having that pain present, therefore merely being thrown onto a concrete floor and having the remained of your teeth kicked from your head was not so bad.

Having your leg laid onto two bricks, one at the ankle and one under your knee, while a six foot two inch twelve stone man breaks your shin into at least two and possibly three bits wasn't actually that bad.

And watching while a wide eyed madman, who you are constantly aware of being the bearer of your misfortune, severs your left hand with his machete just to see if it was sharp was not so bad. Or at least not so painful.

Not painful but it was horrendous. To know you are dying is one thing, you can prepare for that eventuality. After all, we are all dying and though it is final there is a certain amount of pleasure in the moments before death, like you are about to return from where you came, that you no longer have to think, or worry or stress. That it isn't after all going to be that bad.

But to be so horribly mutilated before you die and to be aware of your condition is another matter all together. To see your own hand lying on the floor next to you, itself missing fingers is bordering on the unbearable.

To have your hand removed and then try to use the stump that is left to raise your body upright so that you can run away on legs that no longer work while men stand around you in a circle laughing and spitting at you is bad. Very bad indeed, very unpleasant and it's funny how he also thought it was very unnecessary.

He knew that once the hand was gone the end was close, even if they didn't kill him the blood loss would. But for some reason he didn't want to be left alone to die, he didn't want to bleed to death in an industrial estate outdoors and for some reason this was the most important thing, he didn't want to die alone.

"Kill me please"

"Hold on....Hold on.... I think he's saying something, Scott bend down and ask the twat what he's saying"

"Yeah Scotty, what the fuck does this punk want for Christ sake, this ain't fucking MacDonald's you know, he can't get fries with his beating"

Scott edged forward; the kid was on all fours which in itself was a fucking miracle, his stump in one corner bleeding directly onto the concrete floor, his left hand giving him a slightly wonky front end and his smashed legs barely holding him upright, he must have been one resilient bastard.

He dent down so that his ear by close by his mouth, or at least what Scott thought was his mouth, it was difficult to tell.

"Kill me please Scott" he whispered, barely audible but chillingly assured.

Scott rose slightly and slipped his hand into his back jeans pocket, he pulled out the flick knife that he kept there for.... Well, for no reason at all because he'd never have used it, not before tonight.

He flicked open the five and a half inch blade, put one hand on the back of his head and using the other he drove the knife through the lads right eye, piercing his brain and killing him almost instantly.

He stood and turned to face the dog.

"You cunt Scott, I wanted to do that" Was all he said.

pretty good - remember what I said before though, okay?

Yeah, this one was already written, maybe I need to write two or three on the trot and then break them up for posting, as it is I'm writing sections and then posting them before the next one is done.

I really like these.

I'm just saying, why not have two geniuses in the family? Sort of a
