Well, it would seem we have the new bit of madness here on Uber.
Thanks to the somewhat unflattering picture that inion_de_trua put up of herself yesterday in retaliation to Rad's post, ( http://www.ubersite.com/m/88018 ) everyone came out bearing their fangs. I'm not entirely sure what Katy was thinking posting this -> http://www.ubersite.com/m/88037 but it definitely got some responses. Personally, I don't understand the fury surrounding some of the comments left on Katy's post. Seriously, my god, she's not that bad looking...
Strangely, in the same day, we had Caulaincourt desperately try to prove his heterosexuality by posting pictures of himself with a young brunette woman. Since Caul is one of the most vocal reviewers on Uber, (and also, it seems, one of the most hated) he was quickly attacked as was his lady friend. ( http://www.ubersite.com/m/88036 ) This also set off a slew of parodies, strangely, more that had to do with his girl than with Caul himself. I still think our Quebec King still looks like someone famous - and not Balki...
Hell, even Indoninja got in on the camwhoring yesterday. ( http://www.ubersite.com/m/87969 ) Shockingly normal looking, he did have an odd purple hue to his skin in the picture. That did not bother me as much as the large gun he had slung over his shoulder. Indo and I have a tendency not to get along, and I don't like the idea of him near large weaponry of that nature.

Not counting Shitfuck's contribution, what ties all these camwhore posts together? Do we celebrate knowing a face behind the writing, behind the witty banter and clever reviews?
Hell no. This is Ubersite.
We immediately tear into each other in a rabid display of loathing and cynicism. Every tiny flaw is pointed out, expanded upon and turned into a monumental travesty against nature. Can't find anything right off? Shit, we'll make something up! It's part of the game, part of the trial here. Do people cross the line sometimes? Hmmm... where is the line? Let's be honest here, there was a post about Skull Fucking Someone's Infant Daughter a few days ago.
But what is beauty? Why are we all so quick to to find things hideous in all camwhores as opposed to finding the things that are attractive? What does this say about us as an internet community and is it indicative of everyone else out there? No, no... nevermind. I think it takes a certain kind of twisted fuck to come to this site, stay and enjoy it. Yet, with the exception of a few members, most of them long gone, we all find each other disgusting. At least that's what we say. Well, definitely that's what Caul says...
I guess the purpose of this post is to deduce what you all find beautiful. Actually, WHO you find beautiful. I mean, we all know Method jerks it to a full length mirror, but what about the rest of you? Who are your ideals of beauty and attractiveness?

This is hard. Pure beauty is one thing, but some people are beautiful despite or even because of small imperfections. And what I find sexy isn't always perfect symmetry.
I'd go gay for Salma Hayek, but that doesn't mean my real life standards aren't reasonable.
I agree with Cookie on David Beckham- I'm generally far more attracted to dark hair/eyes, but he's pretty much perfect looking. Though, there are lost of men I find sexier and less conventionally attractive. Swingers-era Vince Vaughn does it for me.

It depends on the reasoning for the camwhore as well dude. I've seen pictures rocket up the heatchain purely becasue the person put them on htere and basically said 'So there.' with a metaphorical raspberry. That kind of attitude cops a lot of shit from people. There have also been examples of camgores where they went flying into review paradise purely becasue of their content, or there were campers sitting there with nothing better to do.
It's often a case by case basis, affected by how the poster interacts with the audience on Uber.
When it comes to personal attacks though, I think a lot of it may either be the anonimity of the internet allowing personal attacks to be vicious yet still anonymous, versus the inescapible fact that the cliques on Uber are rampant, and some people will do anything to be a part of them, in any way.
That's my two cents any way.
Personally, I find it interesting getting a glimpse of some of the people I interact with digitally on a regular basis, instead of faceless personalities somewhere in the ether.
