Wow, this was kind of depressing. It looks like they tore down an old english town and then some designers from overseas decided to rebuild it, trying for a certain look and failing miserably.
At least your city council doesn't waste time on shit like voting to impeach George Bush.

i remember this
shame about that old theatre.
we had in my town a beautiful Jazz era theatre. Duke Ellington played there, all the big swing bands of the era came through, all the famous jazz players of the time. Gorgeous chandeliers and stained glass windows. Red velvet seats. Oak and mahogany woodwork throughout.
they tore it down to build a stripmall. didn't try to save anything. left the old posters and all up and bunged a wrecking ball through the thing.

Train history ... Good stuff. The Brits invented it pretty much and the United States took the technology and ran with it... With the westward expansion and all.

I was Born in York (my old man is crazy into cricket and at that time they still had the rule you had to play for the county in which you were born. He was also in the RAF at the time so he got himself stationed up there just so I could be born in the county - As you can imagine he loves the fact that I decided to play Rugby instead)
Any way I digress. I was born in York but raised in Tamworth in the midlands from the age of 18 month's old.
Intresting fact not many people know this but Tamworth is actually the cenre of the known Universe.

Claims to fame would be:
