There was some serious meterological shit throwing down in the midwest last night. For want of a better term, I was all over it. When I was in Kansas last year I shot through a series of badass storms without once managing to get a picture of any lightning but yesterday, armed with my beautiful new canon powershot, I captured a little bit of awesome in Indiana.
Check out the video: http://www.electrictoothsyndrome.com/media/Lightning.avi
It's just over 1MB and you get to hear me say "FUCK!" like a retard.
For those still in the technological dark ages, here's a selection of stills, ripped in sequence from the video. The one that is so bright it appears to be daylight absolutely batters my head.
GO WEATHER WOO!

Awesome. I love lightning. You should visit Florida sometime- we're the lightning capital of the US. It's cool.

I once made love to lightning.
...it burned when I pissed for four and a half months.
Now, it's just fun to shock things.

Kansas sounds like quite the moody place from what I've heard. The weather's as ferocious as the christians.
I reckon the calmer the people, the calmer the weather.
Yes, that ought to make sense...

Uh, so far you've brought him up more times than Filthy has, Caul.

Actually if you look, I haven't brought him up at all.

Now *thats* a movie I'd quite like to see!

I firmly believe that you could have spent a bit of time with Photoshop bringing out the best in these photos. Post production is just as important as having the camera in your hands at the time.
===
I agree. They're only up here as a supplement to the movie though - an afterthought. This isn't a "whoah, look at my awesome photographic skills" thing. It's more of a spasticated "WOO! STORMS! YAY! *clap clap clap*" thing.

What kind of Canon do you have, ETS? My brother broke my last powershot, and I'm about to get an SD630. I need something portable and I know it'll take nice, clear, 8x10 prints.

Hey Filthy, you could post a movie about you, to see if you're actually normal (which I doubt).
What do you say?
===
You're a french canadian of questionable sexuality who stiffens at the prospect of trying to belittle internet strangers. If I fit into your definition of 'normal' I'd be extremely disappointed in myself.
I've put plenty of shit up here already, and if I happen to shoot something else it'll probably go up here too. I'm not going to film something specially for you though caul - sorry, but your good opinion just isn't of any consequence to me.

Filthy there is no question about his sexual idenity, it's straight
up the pooper. Be at my house at 8 caul, all right?

It wasn't like suburbia kind of a back yard. It was my aunt & uncles farm.
Pretty wide open, about 50 acres, and plus, I was like, 10. Scared me to fat.

Eesh, Caul. I had 150 ft in a backyard with a pool.
That was fun.

When there's houses around, there's really no need to be afraid. We were the highest points in those fields, except for the tree linings and even then the lighting missed hundreds of times.

I've seen lightning fall less than a hundred yards away from me when I was tree-planting (it's actually red at that range), all alone by myself in a field with a metal pique. I didn't feel the need to share it with the Internet.
But then again, you were charmed by Kurt Linzy so it's no surprised you were impressed by this.
