The hour of our death has come. Perched on the cliffs, framed by the skyline, hearts beating as one, united, nations are divided. We can see the bombs dropping, falling like rain, flashing like fireflies. Teeth of steel, eyes of electricity and guts of uranium. Is's raining glass, and the wind is blowing up something fierce. The skyline is toppling, the silhouette is fading, someone stop this.
The sun isn't going to rise for us. Explosions will be our sun. We are CNN. We are BBC. We are FOX. We are TNT. This is our ending memory, a curtain falling, what it is to burn. With each bomb drop, another year is added, we don't want to grow up. But the bombs don't even care, faceless like the birds, faceless like our corpses. Here on the cliffs, explosions are the anthem of our dying day.
10 seconds to new year's, is this how we'll die? Radiation, explosions or carbon monoxide? Cancer or suffocation? From A-bomb to H-bomb, does it make any difference? We're all going to die. Our memories will fade, but a reminder lives on. 3 parked cars, hoses through the windows, 7 bodies, and the ashes of an american flag, laughing, mocking. Peached on the cliffs, we fade into oblivion.
This is what we've given them, this is what they'll ask? "So this is what they lived for? War all the time."
