Hey everybody. It's been a while, (and it's not like I post a lot in the first place), but I thought I'd kick down some music that the band I'm in has been recording.
It's a pretty much raw track, we have a little recorder that we set up in our practice room, and did do it a piece at a time, but it is by no means professionally done. I'm doing the singing and rhythm guitar, Garrett Brookes is on bass, Trevor Williams on guitar, James Dingle on Sax, and Jesse Dingle on drums.
And just to throw in a little fact, did you know that an all day Nascar race, the 100,000 people in the stands produce roughly 419,386 gallons of piss?
Well, on with the music.
Oh, our name is Sound Scape, and the song is The Wizard, (a tribute to our chemistry teacher, who openly admits to practicing wizardry.)

Coming back to listen to this again, I really enjoyed the ethereal guitar soloing....good stuff.

The music iteslf isn't that bad, obviously influenced by Rush and other early Prog-rock bands. However, the levels are all off and when the vocals come in, they are terribly loud compared to the rest of the music. I don't know what program you're using, but see if you can't take out the Mids and intergrate that vocal track.
Your singer's voice isn't horrible, but it's definitely not dynamic enough, especially for this genre of music. He needs to feel more comfortable and explore his range more.

Agree with what kaos said already. Plus, I would lighten up on the metallizer pedals and go with more of a classic rock distortion pedal (i.e. AC/DC-type overdrive) - I think that doing so would help beef up the song a bit. It sounds pretty thin as it sits on this recording. 'Course, I'm listening through headphones at work so I'm not getting any real low-end in them.
Also, I'd bring the drums wayyyy up in the mix...you've got a solid drummer and he was doing some neat things but he was buried below the guitars.
All in all though, I enjoyed the song, and +2 for effort alone. Keep on posting.

a +1 for balls... now the critique...
SoundScape is a horrible name for a band. Very bland and gives away nothing about the vibe or feeling behind the music. This absolutely has to be changed as soon as possible.

Can't download music on uni computers, but wizard chemistry teachers warrant a +2.
