Less than four minutes to play and Roloson gets hit into the net and injures his knee. Conklin comes in to play for him. He then gives the puck away and Edmonton losses game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. After the game we learn that Roloson is out for the finals.
Do we have any chance of winning the cup now with Ty Conklin between the pipes and returning the Cup to Canada?

Wow I don't know a lot about hockey, but isn't 5-0 a good old fashioned ass kicking?
I mean daham if it were oh say football, that would be 35-0, in baseball it would well it would be 5-0.
Speaking of football, Steve Smith just signed a new contract and is going to be a Panther for life.
woo go Panthers
Soooo did that puck REALLY hit that stick or did it go off his skate?
not that it would matter really because it would still be 4-0 or in football terms 28-0.

I hate Carolina because they took out Montreal and Rob Brind'Amour has an horrible nose. But if Albertans win the cup, it will further seal their false sense of superiority that has been galvanized enough since the oil price rises, the Grey Cup and the Federal Elections.

Nothing about our sense of superiority is False!!

dominant? perhaps economically better because of oil prices but we all know albertans could not manufacture shit unless it came out their body.

But Western Canada is the Dominant part of Canada so I don't feel that it will be a false sense of superiority.

I was rather proud of myself for figuring out that on a power play you can clear the puck without an icing call.
that penalty shot last night was just
rude
I wonder how football would change if when there was a penalty you just took the guy off the field for two minutes.
funky

In lamens terms...you cant go in the offensive zone before the puck. If you are in the zone, and the puck goes out, and comes back in..ALL players on offense must get out before anybody can go back in to try and get it.

A player may not skate into his offensive zone ahead of the puck. If that happens, a whistle is blown, and a face-off is held just outside the zone where the breach-offside- occurred. What matters in an offside is the position of the skates: Both skates must be all the way over the blue line for a player to be potentially off-side. The location of the stick does not matter.

Everyone here has been guilted into watching this crap because in theory, Raleigh supports the Panthers. I suppose I can hop on the bandwagon for a week or so. I watched the last three games of the Buffalo - Carolina series just because Sam has a bunch of people at work from Buffalo and he was getting sick of their shit and more wanted Buffalo to lose than Carolina to win. Hey, you have to start somewhere.
so what is offsides?

Its all over boys and girls...the Canes will be champs! Dont get me wrong, i was lookin forward to this series more than most (bein a die hard whale fan)..but w/out roloson, Chris Pronger will need to have about 25 more saves a game to give the oilers a chance..i just think Carolina's offense is on full tilt right now, and cant be stopped, especially by a back up...but you'll never know, Ward was a back up, and he made more highlight reel saves last night then most goalies have in a season.

Conklin is all right.
Sound butterfly, quick, reads the game well enough.
Just makes the occasional "interesting" error.
