Anyway, I teach at a slowly failing college, Sarf of the river. I teach health and social care, to 16 year olds, well mainly there are a few old fucks in the glass, doing the course to make sure the Jobcentre doesn't sanction their fucking Income support.
The mumblings of a group of over jewelled teens occupies way too much of my time, I spend huge chunks of the day locked in translation debates with students. Which was centred around a planned visit to an old peoples home in Peckham.
A sample exchange from today's lesson.
Student - "kez me like vexed be shaun, he don' lick, like me wanna, him bothered by the boxing he was givin to like Shrona"
Me- "Keesha so what are your thoughts on women's roles as Carers"?
Student -"Wipin da batty is dat what ya mean?"
Student- "ain't getting dahn sarf fa no/one"
Male student- "Shaun recks dat you is swift in that department"
Me- "Care work can sometimes involve assisting people with tasks that the rest of us take for granted"
Student-like I could use a stick init?
Me (dreading next weeks visit to the care home) "I'm not sure what you mean"?
Student- I cud put some paper on a stick and wipe from a chair

I'm English Old Boy I just live over here now and yes I've been to South London. I know how these kids speak and you actually didn't do a bad job of trying to capture it. However the post itself was drivel. There was no point to it you just regurgitated an inane conversation you had with a couple of illerate 16 year olds. I mean if you had used that conversation to make a comment to illustrate a point or say somthing it might of been different.
