You make choices about how your country will be set up, and then receive daily issues that affect the fortunes of your little nation. You have to make decisions on everything from public nudity to whether your citizens will be allowed to vote.
Then it gets complicated, if you let it- you have to decide how you fit into the game as a whole. The following is a brief guide to some of the Key issues.
FEEDER REGIONS: When your nation is born you will live in one of the Pacific regions- these are the biggest in the game and have different feels. The Pacific and the North Pacific are the best, with the Pacific being full of communists, and The North pacific being one of the busiest regions in the game.
JOIN THE UN: If you join the UN you can have more power in the game by voting on UN proposals as they come up. Look out- if they pass they will usually put up your taxes! UN members can also elect a delegate from the members of their region to vote on behalf of the region as a whole. Most of the UN proposals are against the sovereignty of individual nations and I try to vote against every one.
INVADE/ DEFEND: The founder of the region has access to regional controls which allow you to eject troublemakers and edit the factbook entry. The founder can also allow the delegate access to the controls. If you find a region without a founder that has delegate controls switched on you can invade by moving in a load of your friends and all endorsing one person as delegate. You can alter their factbook entry and make it a colony, and make them cry. There are hundreds of people in organised groups with forums that do this EVERY DAY. They either help regions being invaded, or defend regions being invaded. These groups have acronyms like the ADN, the DEN and the EAA. The defender organisations are made up of the kind of kids that sit at the front of the class putting their hand up, and that tut at drunk people in the street. The invaders are mainly hormonal teenage boys whO typE LIEk thIs. I'm planning to make our region badass invaders.
ROLEPLAYING: Very complicated, very strict. Involves guns and dragons and stuff. Lots of rules.

Well, my currency is the cumshot. Now read this argument:
