Proper Etiquette for the Carpool Lane (339 hits)

They recently opened a carpool lane between my home and my office. This has cut my commute from 35-40 minutes down to 20-25 minutes, because I take my son to his grandparents' house each morning before work. The speed limit along this stretch of highway is 65 and most of the traffic flows between 70 and 80. I like to get in the carpool lane and set my cruise control for 75, but lately I've found people tailgating me. Since the carpool lane is on the inside (far left, next to the "fast lane") I wasn't sure if I should yield to the faster drivers or let them pass me on the right since it's the carpool lane and not the "fast lane". What does everyone think? Plus, here's a cool picture I took with my camera phone.
