Signing up for the army.
I'd never thought I would even consider it. But, I'm currently seriously thinking about signing up for a two-year term (after finishing the Dutch equivalent of Law School(not exactly the same.))
I know a lot of people here have served/are serving in the military, and I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter. What are the benefits? What are the downsides?
Since I live in Holland, chances of me being called up for service are very small indeed, please keep that in mind.

the dutch are cool. Hopefully i too will be joining the dutch military for a short bit. i have been told about a program that allows you to go through dutch jump school. It costs about $1000 and you get you wings..dutch wings that is. I plan on attending when i leave this R.O.K. and arrive in germany.

I can't speak from an insider's view, but my friend from high school joined the Marines right after graduation, and he was never the same. Oh, he made sure to get out after his 2 year thing, but I miss that funny as hell party guy I was best friends with.
