Travis McGee, one of crime fiction's heros. The Busted Flush and Slip F-18,
Bahia Mar, Lauderdale; the memorable setting one finds Travis McGee.
Like Schlongy but better at cards, McGee wins his houseboat thanks to a "Busted Flush".
The Deep Blue Goodbye is a classic crime novel with a leading man as sexy and memorable
as James Bond. Again, a common theme with our lovable Schlongy. McGee is a stud with
the ladies and a man's man. Never to old for a good fight, a tan and fit McGee gets an ass
kickin but bounces back to save the girl, one of them anyway. Like Schlongy, McGee
drinks all day, dazzles all the hot women, lounges on his houseboat but maintains
his stud qualities through out the novel. Both characters are never too old to teach the
young guys a lesson and always there to please the ladies.
This book was first published in 1964. Schlongy was about seven? It was the first in
the character series of crime novels. The McGee series stands up to time, and is just as
good as any best seller found at Walmart.. Several best selling novelists use the tried and
true formula of MacDonald. Placing the character in the same familiar surroundings that lends
itself to a readable series and character you would love to be friends with in "real" life.
All uber readers know that Schlongy can be found on the golf courses of the Carolinas or the
casinos of Mississippi. And whether you will admit it or not ....you all want to hang with Schlongy.

Not only HANG with, but BE Shlongy.
And that's kind of pathetic.

I just want to be on Shlongy's expense account...

did those books always have a different colour in the title? travis mcgee rings a bell.
i have examined my subconscious, and i really don't think i want to hang with shlongy - unless he is a fictional charater. i've always wanted to hang with fictional characters
