The other day, I was walking with Ry down Main Street in Keene. We started discussing how much (or Little ) it would take to unsettle a persons grip on reality. For instance, have you ever been walking down the road and everyone is dressed the same, and not for any particular reason?
We'll start at an extreme:
So imagine this: You're walking down the street, and you keep passing people dressed as Zombies, in groups of 1-3, spaced randomely down the street. when would it stop being funny, start being unsettling, and then downright scary?
Now switch it to people in animal/mascot costumes. These are less scary, but if there was enought, would you start to freak out?
Or how about pirates?
Or even amputees or burn victims? or Dwarfs?[writer's note-I've no issue with any of these groups, but if you're not used to seeing them, they can catch one off gaurd, because deep down we're all horrible people]
Or even if your town suddenly got a mass of ethnicity it never had before?
I like to think about having an open mind, but it doesn't take much to start to unsettle me.

I think anyone that has experienced a hallucinogenic "trip" would have the upper hand in all your scenarios.

If I saw pirates eveywhere I'd go straight home and put my ninja gear on and get ready for war.

I'll admit I can't deal with "multicultural" anything very well.
We've all got our comfort zones, some more than others,
but livin' in the middle of "china town" WOULD and HAS freaked me out!!

I've seen the sun say "fusion fusion fusion", a man bench press an 8' penis, and Electro's shirt.
What's left to surprise me?

The Thais must be going nuts secretly because everyone over there is wearing a yellow shirt these days.
