I was on an early shift last Wednesday.
I'm not at all adjusted to these as the powers that be have realised I'm good for shit before 10:00 and there's little point getting me to do anything before then.
After little sleep, an early start and a tedious day I trudged home to do as little as physically possible.
I arrived at home, dumped my shirt on the ever growing pile of washing I need to do and collapsed on my bed with the pleasant thought that at any minute I could doze off.
I stuck the T.V. on and turned the volume down a little, just for the sake of a half heartedly staring at it.
My flat is a listed building so we're not allowed to put a dish on it, so I only get the choice of four channels (which no one bloody told me before I moved in!).
I settled for cartoons due to a lack of options and fact that I don't have it pay any attention to know what's going on.
I've since found out that it was Maya and Miguel I was watching. A cartoon based around a family of fence hoppers. Probably devised to teach American kids to respect their hairy, possibly illegal cousins.
As I was watching two of the characters trying to sneak out of their Grandmother's room I had a little chuckle to myself at the animators balls up. As the kids pushed their backs against a wall it looked like one of them had an arm missing.
As I say, I thought this was a balls up. Until I saw the same character holding a menu with one hand and the other was nowhere to be seen. There was no way they could fuck up the same character in the same way twice in the same cartoon.
"Have they actually included an amputee in this?!"
Not that I'm freaked out by amputees or anything, but what sort of thought process went into that?
"You know what this cartoon need, Dave?"
"What's that then, Jim?"
"A one armed kid."
"Yeah, fuck it, why not."
Fair play, educate kids on some of the more unfortunate sides of life, but that's going to leave some awkward questions for parents to answer!
This may be a popular cartoon in America (or here) and this may be old news, but it's the first time I'd seen it and it kind of took me by surprise.
I'll give to the kid though; he doesn't seem to let it get him down.

This is silly. Everyone knows amputees were created only for the sole purpose of crazy, disgusting, degrading, pornos that no one admittedly watches.

There was that cartoon Waynehead where the main kid had a big-old footbrace on him.

Mr. Scorpio says productivity is up 2% and it's all because of my
motivational techniques, like donuts and the possibility of more
donuts to come.
