On the morning of August 6, 1945 the world was changed. President Truman sat in his bedroom, looking out over Washington D.C. As the sun's rays lit the nation's capital, he wondered if what he decided, and ordered, was right. The most unprecedented event in the history of mankind was to take place in just 57 minutes.
---
Captain Parsons was nervous, as any man would be in his situation. He had practiced this dozens - no, hundreds of times on the ground. In the air over the west Pacific in the early morning hours was a different matter. His hands were aching from the cold, barely having feeling left. He kept at his task, however, mission success was his responsibility alone.
---
The Japanese early warning radar net detected the approach of some American aircraft headed for the southern part of Japan. The alert had been given and radio broadcasting stopped in many cities, among them Hiroshima. The planes approached the coast at a very high altitude. At nearly 08:00, the radar operator in Hiroshima determined that the number of planes coming in was very small, probably not more than three, but his commanding officer ordered them intercepted. With that, the operator notified a nearby airbase to send fighters to down the planes.
---
The three planes present were the Enola Gay, The Great Artiste, and Necessary Evil had no armed escort. They were to fly high and straight to their intended target. The Japanese fighter planes cut them all down in short order.
---
On board the Enola Gay, Captain Parsons had completed his task. Little Boy was armed as directed. The Captain lay dead beside the atomic weapon as the plane plunged toward the Pacific Ocean. Upon contact, the gravity fuse detonated and the Enola Gay, it's crew, and all living things inside the blast radius were obliterated.
---
President Truman received the call at 1:43 pm EST. The mission had failed, all crews were lost. As he hung up the phone, he opened the red, laminated dossier on his desk. A spy plane had taken pictures of a missile silo outside Hiroshima. Later intelligence confirmed it was a chemical and biological weapons plant, with missile ranges that would launch them into the middle of the US. Farther if launched from sea.
The President said a short prayer and then prepared to make a radio address. He had two speeches planned; one for success and one for failure. He prayed it was all a dream and he could announce the former. An aid entered and notified it was time. The President stood, and exited the room. This is the day that would truly live in infamy now.
---
A Japanese submarine named Kyoto was the first to launch the weapons. The war head landed in the center of Chicago, more of a range test than a planned attack. When the missile impacted there was no explosion, just a fine grey mist the was carried quickly on the wind. Most of the civilians that came in contact with it died horribly within minutes, mostly from the nervous system seizing and muscles spasming. The survivors died of complications later, there being no doctor that could determine and treat their afflictions.
More missiles continued to fall. San Antonio. Pittsburgh. New York City. Raleigh. All of the United States' major cities were hit. The deadly mist was carried on the wind to even the most remote places. Millions were dead within hours.
---
The survivors weren't much better off than the dead. Illnesses unknown plagued the populace. Some newborns were born with physical mutations. They, of course, were put down and the parents were told they were still born. Still, some newborns survived without any know problems. This let the people hold out hope that their afflictions were temporary.
---
On December 7, 1946 the United States and it's allies surrendered to Japan unconditionally. At the peace accord in Brussels, it was determined that to avoid future conflicts and devastation of this magnitude the world's governments would form into one. The New World Order was established March 17, 1947.
Emperor Sita Shin was appointed ruler of the newly United Terra. He ruled with a generous and kind heart until his death in 1987. It was then that his son, Yoshida, was appointed Emperor. Unfortunately he would not be so kind as his father.
The children of the attacks on America had grown into adulthood. Some had also developed unique abilities. In 1977, a campaign was started to eradicate these undesirables from the population. For the safety and future of mankind, the Nova Organization was funded. Their mission was to track these mutants and ensure they could not spread their DNA to future generations. The plan almost succeeded.
It was found, however, in 1989 that the "Zero Gene" was capable of skipping one or more generations, making it impossible to determine who would have it.
This new evolution, known as Zero's, had to hide who they were in fear that the government would have them and all traceable family members killed - ending their family bloodline.
This brings us to today. My name is Dade. I am a Zero.

I liked this, I read the second part first like a doofus and wandered what the fuck was going on. Reading this makes it clear now.

Interesting direction to take with this. I think you should go back further to 'revise' history a little more. Japan was pretty much fucked even before they got nailed with two atomic weapons. But once you look past that, you've got a plot full of potential here.
I am intrigued.

Hey, buddy, little tip for you - history can't be plagarised!
That part came from an encyclopedia.
Next you'll say that Japan and Truman were plagarised too.
Sheesh, did you specifically look for something wrong?

I WAS going to +2 this, because it's a good concept and story... but then I found this:
http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/travel/hiroshima_bombing.htm
and realised that THIS paragraph from your story:
----------------------
The Japanese early warning radar net detected the approach of some American aircraft headed for the southern part of Japan.
----------------------
Was pretty much copy & pasted from that page or another one like it.
so -1 plagiarism

Fucking awesome dude. Way better than that other thing you wrote.
And a neat fact about this
"The three planes present were the Enola Gay, The Great Artiste, and Necessary Evil had no armed escort."
My uncle Teddy flew a fighter that escorted the enola gay on the actual run. Obviously fighters could not travel as far as the bombers and had to eventually pull back. Just feels kind of cool that somebody with my blood helped drop the bomb.

Interesting if not a little bit of the "come on...." that comes with the words that America lost. America doesn't LOSE! We just bide our time.
And what city does not belong in this line up? "San Antonio. Pittsburgh. New York City. Raleigh."
Raleigh? Raleigh?!?! Why the hell did you choose Raleigh?!?!

Hmm this was a difficult read. On one hand the Japanese win and we lose and thats bad. On the other the Japanese a notorious for their racism towards other Asians and I hate Asians as well so thats good. But mutants are sexy and if X-Men tells us anything that even if they have lame powers they'll be sexy enough to pull of lots of leather; which is good.

This is the first part of a comic book I was writing a few years back, but gave up on. More is coming, as I'm going to focus on just this story for a while.
