It has been a while but I have been pretty busy with bits and things.
-----------------------------
Part 12
Six months down the line and the boys thought they were the dog's bollocks. They each had very healthy sums of money stashed in various places and were now wearing clothes that outwardly looked similar to what they used to wear but cost considerable more. They were also flying to Spain or Portugal once every four to six weeks for golfing weekends, champagne and hookers. None had the balls to buy a car yet, that would be flaunting it a little too much but they all could have paid cash for and M3 or M5 without blinking an eyelid.
And to date no trouble or violence, no threats and no beatings. It was all so easy, the police were ever too ignorant or too busy to care what was going on, and none of the local thugs would dare mess with them since word got about that Scott had killed someone.
Things were about to change though.
Word had got back to the Dog that the boys were holding back payment from him. They were supposed to be paying 25% of all profits to him and in return he basically left them alone to run the area. And he was getting his twenty five that he knew of course. He knew what they took from him, what it cost and what they were selling it for.
However, word was that they were taking supplies from a second source, some West London based guys that were flying drugs into a little airfield called North Weild in or around the Essex area. These shipments were being brought in and sold on and the Dog wasn't seeing a penny. This was most certainly not part of the deal.
Scott received a phone call late one evening from a clearly distressed Jarvis, he was talking quickly and breathing hard, for a moment Scott thought that maybe he'd been taking a little too much of the stock himself. He soon realised that he was pumped.
Jarvis told how walking home from delivering a few local drops to reliable people he was approached by three blokes in the high street. At first he thought they were kids until they were about 50 yards away when he sussed that the clothing was too expensive and the feeling just was not right. They were not chatting to one another.
By the time they were 25 yards from him Jarvis discreetly drew his knife from his back pocket. He knew he had a decision to make, lung into them and run the risk of stabbing three innocent blokes just walking home from the pub or wait for a sign that this was more sinister and run the risk of coming off worse.
Jarvis was not one for taking risks, so at the point the three stopped in front of him blocking his path he raised his knife and stabbed the middle one in the left hand side of his throat. Before either of the other two had a chance to react or probably even register what had happened he'd stabbed the one on the left three times in quick succession in the arm, chest and back.
This had given the last remaining threat time to step back a few paces and asses the situation. His two pals were injured badly that he worked out. One was lying still and the other was on his knees making a bubbling gargling noise while appearing to choke himself. He looked back up at the face of the man who had attached them.
"Alright Jarvis, no fucking need for that"
That was all he needed, the fella knew his name. That meant one thing, he was probably sent by the Dog. Maybe he'd sussed the North Weild thing.
He rushed the remaining man, smashing his forehead into his face. He the bloke' nose break. Pulling back his head he was already starting to lunge forward again with his knife. Halfway towards putting his hand up to his shattered nose he started to drop them again to protect his exposed torso. Too late he thought as he felt Jarvis stab him in his exposed belly. It was at this point that he decided that enough was enough and he would leave the scene and the warning of Jarvis and his mates to somebody else. Turning on his heels he ran.
Jarvis made no attempt to chase him. Let his go, it would be good anyway for word to get back to the Dog that he wasn't to be fucked with. And besides, he had two people he wanted a quiet word with.
The high street lent itself very kindly to Jarvis tonight, running parallel to the through road at ninety degrees were a series of alleyways that lead to cottages and flats that were behind the shops.
One in particular, the one that he was stood alongside when he was attacked lead down to the river that flowed one hundred or so foot at the back of the town. It was very quiet down this alley at this time of night.
He pulled each of the two into the dark alley. It was pretty apparent that the one with his throat slashed wasn't going to be doing a great deal of speaking, though he was making a lot of noise. Jarvis smashed his face into the pavement with a thud, knocking his unconscious. Every five minutes or so for the next half an hour he had to turn and kick the fella in the head to keep him that way.
Turning his attention to the bloke who was nursing knife wounds to the arm and chest he crouched beside him and calmly asked "Who sent you?"
"Fuck You"
Jarvis redistributed his weight so that he was able to get a better hold of the guy's hair, lifting his face upwards into the moonlight he slashed his from the top of his hairline down to his jaw-line, this time with the Stanley blade that he also kept about his person. "Who sent you?"
He could tell that the bloke was starting to have second thoughts. They'd probably been told that they wouldn't have any problems with this guy. That he was just a part player, or that he'd play up but that with three of them it wouldn't be a problem. He certainly didn't expect to find himself on his back, looking at the stars getting his face re-arranged for him.
Jarvis stood up and stamped on his arm, he broke it clean. Bending back down with the Stanley in his hand he slashed the guy on the other side of his face. "I am not and will not play games with you, tell me who sent you or this is going to be a long night and you are going to be one ugly fucker in about fifteen minutes time".
It was the only thing he'd said to the bloke other than 'Who sent you'. This unsettled the guy. So far he had replied the standard 'Fuck you' just once. For that he had a broken arm and two scars the length of his face. He had a very good idea that if he didn't tell Jarvis the truth then he would be true to his word.
"The Dog, the Dog sent me". Already he was thinking about moving his stuff out of the flat tonight, grabbing the cash he had stashed around the place and moving up north. That would be a start. Then, maybe after a month or so he would think about disparaging for good, hopefully the Dog would have his hands full chasing around town after these punks. You didn't give up the Dog and survive.
Jarvis stood up, crashed his foot down on his face and wandered out of the alley. Pulling his phone from his pocket he knew he had to phone Scott.

I have finally managed to get up to date with this series.
Bloody brilliant is all I can say, yet that seems insubstantial.
