Italy gets a stupid red card in the 50th minute. Handing out cards is the new fasion. It's now 11 versus 10. Australia has 90% of the possession and an extra man on the field.
Then in the 73rd minute Italy's finest playwright, thespian and comic gets substituted into the game under the guise that he's a great player; Francesco Totti.
With a burst of speed and a deft touch in added time he makes a break in the box. An Aussie slides by him, missing the ball and the flamboyant Italian.
Yet, with the skill of a God, he recognizes an opportunity and cons the Ref and an entire nation from down under.
Only rarely does one see such blatant diving in the box.
A grown man cheated his way to victory and is probably a national hero now. What does this say about Italy?

It should have been a complete NO CALL and let them fight it out in the extra fifteens.
The Itallian guy I was watching the game with, complete with his blue jersey, even said he didn't want to win like that.
