Regarding - Landmark al Qaeda trial collapses
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/08/yemen.militants.ap/index.html
Thanks to the lovely Yemen courts 19 alleged al Qaeda members are back on the streets. Personally I never expected a Muslim country to convict 19 Muslim's of terrorism, but it was a great showcase. As the courts say, the prosecutors failed to provide any adequate evidences of a terrorist plot, but let's not consider how they admitted to fighting US soldiers in Iraq, oh wait that's right those are insurgents. You would think after the October 2000 USS Cole bombings they would be doing there best to show the US that they are serious on cracking down on terrorism, but apparently I'm wrong on that point. I'm curious on everyone's opinions on this; do you think that the trial was a showcase to attempt to show Yemen is serious about terrorism? Do you believe these 19 individuals were actually innocent of any terrorist plot what so ever? Should Yemen be eyed by the US consider it was probably more an al Qaeda haven that Afghanistan ever was? Let your opinions fly, considering they are like assholes and everyone has one.

Innocent untill proven guilty - Couldn't prove them guiltly so they are free - Anyone who cares about justice should be pretty happy - Americans hear "al Qaeda" or "terrorist" and assume guilt - Fucking americans

I figure that I wasn't at the trial, I don't know what evidence was put before me.
Is it possible that it was a shaky verdict? Yes. But do I have any proof to the contrary? No.

Why should Yemen care who we deem insurgents? They don't exactly have the same ideals as us. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they might actually NOT want us in the Middle East anywhere, whether we're fighting or not. They're the bad guys--but only to us.

Yes, let's throw out civil law in favor of military tribunals and let's get rid of police in favor of the army! That will solve soooo much.
Cry in outrage for the destruction of the Bill of Rights! Let's use the Constitution to line our cage and soak up the shit and piss we leave behind.
It's coming, people. Just remember you were warned repeatedly.

Yemen's about as Muslim as apple pie. I mean they practice it, but so does apple pie.
