Thom Yorke's new CD, The Eraser, let me down a little. I bought it expecting a good cry, like I had when I first heard "Pyramid Song" from Radiohead's Amnesiac album.
Have you ever bought a cd or movie for the purpose of crying?
The Eraser made me feel indifferent and almost upbeat. I think that means that one of us -- Yorke or I -- has last his mind.

I have bought albums lots of times because I like the melancholy feeling they give.
I've always been attracted to the sadder aspects of music. It's always a disappointment that bands insist on releasing albums where the upbeat songs and the sad ones are alternated throughout the album. I fucking hate that because it means I can't just listen to the whole thing through. It means I have to skip the ones I'm not in the mood for at the moment.

Old Radiohead was fucking awesome, the bends, OK computer, that last album was dog shit, whining tard bullshit.

I really like the album actually. Need to give it a fair few more listens, but so far I've been pleasantly surprised. It's not particularly edgy - but good never the less.
