So who am I? Like the post title states I am sure no one gives a damn.
So then what the hell am I writing about then? Well I am writing about being in love. Truth be told I wouldn't be on here, especially at this hour, except that the love of my life is curled up so adorably with her son, having fallen asleep watching a movie, that I just felt like I wanted to talk about how great it is to have her and how lucky I feel everyday.
Yeah I can already clairvoyantly see the parade of -2's that may be coming even though this is undoubtedly being posted too late to get any real exposure, but I suppose that I can be honest in saying that I couldn't care less... I am on cloud nine and since I haven't got the heart to wake her to put the little man in his own bed and cuddle up next to her, I thought I would just reflect.
I have ridden the roller coaster, man will I tell you.
I have dated all sorts of women, hell you can go back and browse some of my past posts about some of the bullshit I have got to go through for the ones that I have mistakenly given my heart to. I say mistakenly, in retrospect of course. At the time there was something extraordinary about them to me but, once again in retrospect, I realize it was some novelty or convenience or dependancy that caused me to allow myself to become vulnerable to them and open myself to the heartbreak that followed.
Hey,... you live and you learn. Hehe, I suppose that is a hell of a lot easier to say now.
I noticed a trend in myself. I wanted to be the Hero...the rescuer...the big strong hand that would reach down and pick up the injured little bird and heedlessly and selflessly nurse it back to health.... and then be left standing there wondering why my little bird flew off.
I mean it seemed like a benevolent thing to be doing at the time but, (here it comes again...)in retrospect, I realized that I was a catalyst in a cycle for women to use me to restore their faith so they can go out and make more bad decisions, and not give a damn about me. Yeah I am done with the bird analogy.
I am one of those people that people feel they can talk to, and for the longest time, when relevant, I would give the advice of "You have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with anyone else" and had never taken that advice myself.
So I spent some time getting back in touch with myself. (insert smartass masturbation joke here) I dated but without the intent of finding someone to get involved in a serious relationship with. That went on for about oh.... I guess about 6 months or so. I had some fun, took the time to really find out what matters to me in a woman. I had never done that before.
Then she crossed my path again. I had met her a number of years back through a mutual friend. At the time she seemed unattainable to me, but she captivated me. When our paths crossed again, nothing was different. I gathered up the courage, took a deep breath, and dove in... and I haven't looked back since.
I have two kids that mean the world to me, and she treats them like the treasures they are to me. She is sincere in her demeanor. She doesn't speak nearly as much as I do, but when she does, what she says is well thought out and from the heart. She sees me for who I am and what is important to me. She is calm and understanding, graceful and demure, and completely unselfish. She inspires me daily, and her kindness and loving nature drives me to desire to be a better person, not only for her but also for myself. She hears me... she doesn't just sit and listen to me.
When I look at her I see my future, and when she looks at me it feels as though she is gazing in to my heart and soul. She is undoubtedly, the love of MY LIFE, and I want to shout it on the mountaintop. I am so head over heels in love with this woman, that simply seeing her peacfully sleeping on an seemingly insignificant Monday night in July made me want to sit and share it with those of you that are reading this.
I have realized that you can't be with someone to find validation or to give it, Being with someone should simply enrich your life... And after a long difficult journey of poor choices and dissappointment.... I finally found it...

Do you ever find yourself in a situation kind of like that very beginning of a roller coaster ride where you're heading up click click click and you're kind of excited but also a little scared and a little piece of you wants to jump out but you can't because my god what kind of moron jumps off a roller coaster ride especially when you had to stand in line for a damn hour to get on it but the suspense of that moving that slowly upward with the click click click is just maddening?

Good for you. Now all you've got to do is not fail.
I must admit I often lie awake and think about the challenges you can share with a wife. Your first stillborn is one I dwell on, I mean that's the kind of thing that defines a man you know? How you deal with those situations, whether you can say all the right things and feel the right emotions. It's a real test of having your head on straight.
Plus you get, like, hugz 4 evar and stuff. Plus dual income. But you have to cook more elaborate food. Can't just live on oven chips and microwavable chicken now you're cooking for two. You'll have to start vacumming as well and washing the sheets will no longer only be done on special occaisions.
It's all worth it though just so she can be there saying "I'm broken inside, why can't I do anything right Darth Faded? I'm.." and then as she breaks down into uncontrollable sobbing she'll hold you tighter and more dearly than you ever dreamt was possible.
Unless she just goes all withdrawn and unaffectionate. That would suck.
