Here's a post for the bandwagon.
We were driving back from Mosul yesterday from one of our routine maintenance visits on our route clearance equipment. We're the folks who drive around our little part of Iraq (the area in and around Tal Afar) and look for roadside bombs (IEDs).
About halfway in between Mosul and Tal Afar on route Santa Fe, we were driving about 60 MPH or so and we saw a sandbag lying in the median. It made a little 'pop' and started smoking just as we passed by. Well, being as it is our job to find IEDs, we stopped to investigate. We pulled the Buffalo up next to it and used the claw to do some poking around. We uncovered a good sized IED that would have made us have a very bad day had it actually gone off. We called EOD and they made it go boom while we watched. It was neato.
Here's a couple pictures of the damned thing. I got video of EOD blowing it up which is super cool, but I have shit for bandwidth over here.
Fuck Iraq.

Yeah, I get what you're saying man..That's why I wasn't more specific...That's about 60-70 miles worth of heavily IED'd road I described there.
We're up in Ninewah.

Not bashing on you Foodman.. Just saying the rules. You know how it is. Better to cover your ass than leave it hanging in the breeze for some fuckhead with an agenda against you.
I know they watch. TF Dagger is you, right? or it is, in the Anbar province.

Blackwater is actually hiring. I live down the street from them. That is, of course, if you want to be a legitimate mercenary.

Yeah...um, there's pretty much a 100% chance they were watching us as all of this went down. They used to tell us not to take pictures of our vehicles either. Then they realized that (duh) the enemy watches us (and videotapes) at every encounter to learn our TTPs. It's no secret what we do out here, and it is certainly no secret when they're watching us as it goes down.

It is not legal to post in the way that he has done.
He has given a time (yesterday) a place ( Route Santa Fe, between two locations) and the fact that it failed to detonate.
This constitutes giving Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) to the enemy. Please be a little more vague in the future.
But I totally agree. Fuck Iraq. 3 tours now and I'm fucking sick of it. I expect to go back again though.

So I have to ask, is this actually legal to post?
