PART 1.) SOME SHIT I WAS WRITING AS A REVIEW SOMEWHERE ELSE:
Sometimes I think the things I'm looking at are not really there, or that they are something different than what they seem to be at first glance.
I'll look away, all nonchalant like, as if I'm going to just go ahead and look at something else...and then I spring back to see what's going on.
And you know, the thing is always there. It didn't go anywhere. And it was what it seemed to be.
Humans like to romanticize everything.
Humans want things to be something different than what they are.
They want glamorous and exciting happenings to be part of their everyday life, because burnt toast for breakfast and a wicked case of the shits on a cold toilet at 6 a.m. just aren't cutting it.
They all like to deify people after they die. (this really is part of it) "Oh well, let me tell you...old Uncle Jack was a prince. A FUCKING PRINCE I tells ya. That man would give his last nickel to a bum and he'd never say a dishonest thiing all his days."
Well, let me tell you something.
Old Uncle Jack liked to kick puppies and he beat his kids. That 'last nickel' he gave to a bum? Yeah, that was to buy crack. And he didn't lie because he was too stupid to try and spare peoples feelings.
Uncle Jack was a dick.
That's right.
AND burnt toast tastes pretty fucking bad.
Me? I switched to having a smoothie for breakfast. They're delicious and refreshing.
And your time on the pot is drastically reduced with that healthy diet.

I have recently acquired a dog.
He needed a house and I needed something to tear up my belongings (see that chewed up box over the edge of the couch?)
I have suggested the following names:

These were all summarily dismissed by my wife.
(She's the woman holding the dog.)
Offer me some names. I'll run them by her. If she likes one of your suggestions, I'll send you a present. Maybe cookies. I make good fucking cookies. Maybe something else.

nah, we don't always deify dead folk. look at hitler. everyone knows my grandmother drank a lot, and was generally a mean person. somtimes, there's misdeification, but not always.

+2ing everything is an honorable notion, but why not just give everything a 0? worth reading is a fine compliment for any piece of writing: it says that the reader gained something by taking the time to read whatever it was. i try to stay there, at least. sometimes, you have to -2die something though it should be used responsibly.

One of the most interesting things I ever learnt is that there's no such thing as a purely altruistic act. Everything nice we do, even when we loose out over all, leaves us with a warm and fuzzy feeling, so we still gain. Plus there's the whole karma thing, if you believe that.
