This is from his website...
Just started in 1976 with oil painting. In the beginning as a hobby, now it has become more like a profession. Beside oil painting I have made some etching work and a few lithography's. During the last years I am even producing some three-dimensional work. (e.g. bronze sculptures). My total painting-production now is limited to approximately 55 pieces..My themes are often surrealistic but figurative. It is for me the way to paint in a recognizable style. Part-time working at a First Aid (E.R.) ward of the biggest hospital in the Netherlands (Rotterdam), it is obvious that the impact of my work is shown in my, with symbolism soaked, paintings. So the themes "death, blood and misery" are often recognizable. The temporality of life, the threatening of disasters and hints to hollow ideals are sometimes to be found in lots of paintings. At least I often prepare my own canvasses and I do the final frame-work. This gives me more freedom in the final shape of a painting. Detail: I also "sign" my paintings with a mixture of glossy and matted varnish.

APW = AUTO + 2

The artist was obviously influenced by Dali and the surrealist movement, but I would say he's taken his own path.

Granted different subject, but I would reckon the majority of people looking at these would think "mmm this guy likes Dali"

I still like though.

Unfortunately there are some 'Real' art critics here, so what do we know?

I don't see anything too wrong with this art or how you could tie this into Dali. Obviously I'm looking at some finer lines in art here, but I'll accept your opinion regardless.
--

How could you not tie this in with Dali?

I do like the style though, always have.

It's surrealist, yes. But I think Dali different subject matter.

Ok ... I'm something of an art critic so here goes:

This artist needs to SERIOUSLY consider redecorating his living space.

There's FAR too much Salvatore Dali on his walls.

Second class? What about Social Security, bus discounts, Medic-Alert
jewelery, Gold Bond powder, pants all the way up to your armpits, and
all those other senior perks? Oh, if you ask me, old folks have it
pretty sweet.
