H. R. Giger was born in Switzerland in 1940. In 1962 he began to study architecture and design in Zurich and by 1966 he had his first solo exhibition. Throughout the late 60s and early 70s he found his his style in both airbrushing and free hand painting, creating his own surreal biomechanical worlds and figures. His work found wider fame when he joined with Ridley Scott to create the creature for the movie "Alien."
Giger's acclaim grew and in 1988 he created the Tokyo Giger Bar, and then another bar in Chur, Switzerland in 1992. In 1998, in Gruyeres Switzerland, the Giger Museum opened and 2003 the 400 year old complex was renovated to incorporate both its gothic architecture and Giger's ascetic view. In the last two years he has won Art & Cultural Awards from both Paris and Prague.

You did forget to put in a photo of Li Tobler, his girlfriend that commited suicide. She was hot. Although that image on the far left with the snake on her forehead, that's her. I never quite understood why he has to have penises all over the place (Especially Li with a penis stuck into her head), but I guess that's his style. I wonder if skullfucking was his thing.

I recall hearing something about the record company editing the piece so there was a shaft of light where a giant, Geiger penis was originally.
