It is amazing what a person can create when they're bored. Does anyone on here even remember text games?
My new house - A walk-through
-----------------------------
As you enter the yard you see green grass, hedges surrounding the property as well as 3 barrels filled with lilies & daisies. You can go any direction.
>west
You see a beautifully crafted wooden staircase leading up to the front door of a quaint blue house. There is a flower box here.
>look flowers
They need water.
>open door
The door opens into a cozy living room. An enormous TV (Probably purchased by a man) is a dominating feature. The walls are white with wood wainscoting. You see a feature wall painted a beautiful dreamy blue with a nook in it. For some reason you sense this is a much better color choice then what may have been here before. There is a computer in this nook. To your north is a doorway. There is a staircase leading upstairs. The room continues west & north past the nook.
>north
You are in a very small bedroom. It is crammed full of baby furniture and carries faint aroma of diapers & baby lotion. You see a baby lying in the crib sleeping. The only exit is to the south.
>tickle baby
The baby squirms and smiles. She's cute.
>south
You are in the living room.
>up
You go up the staircase marveling in the details. The staircase opens up onto a large room without a door. The ceilings are slanted and decorated with glow in the dark stars. The room is filled with toys of every description. There is a girl playing barbies here.
>play barbies
You play barbies with the girl for several hours, finally you manage to escape her grasp and bolt back down the stairs. You are in the living room in front of the nook.
>north
You are in a hallway. There is a door to the north and to the west.
>north
You are in a good-sized bathroom. The floor is covered in laminate. The usual bathroom fixtures are here.
>use toilet
It functions as a toilet should. You feel relieved
>wash hands
Good for you!
>take shower
You notice the hot & cold taps are reversed. After much struggling you manage to get the temperature just right. You turn on the shower and are disappointed to see there is very little water pressure. You have a choice between a small pounding line of water and a fine mist. You proceed to shower anyways. Your navel ring falls out in the shower. The ball falls down the drain. You are now thoroughly disappointed with your showering experience and leave the bathroom in a huff.
You are in a hallway. You can go west or south.
>west
You are in a small but very bright kitchen. The laminate flooring continues here. The appliances look very new. There is a sink here as well. There are doorways to your west & south.
>drink water
You get a glass from the cupboard and pour a glass of WARM water! These taps are reversed as well! You put your glass in the dishwasher.
>south
You are in a dreamy blue bedroom. The room is overstuffed with Ikea furniture and out of place looking tattered white dressers. A rather chubby black & white cat is laying on the occasional table over the bed. There are doorways to the west & north.
>pet cat
The cat hisses at you and runs away.
>west
You are in a closet. It is filled with clothes & boxes. There is a filing cabinet here. The only exit is east.
>file
What?!? Are you at work? Why would you want to do that? And why is there a filing cabinet in the closet anyways?
>east
You are in the bedroom. There are exits to the west & north.
>north
You are in the kitchen. There are exits to the west, south & east.
>west
You are in a small mudroom with laminate flooring. It is crammed with shelves full of stuff and a deep freeze. The room smells like citrus. There is a door to the west and a doorway to the east.
>look deep freeze
You open the deep freeze for a closer look (nosy bugger aren't you?) They have creamsicles!
>eat creamsicle
Yum!
>open door
You step through the door onto a large deck in a good-sized yard, you see playhouse on the lawn as well as a small garden with some herbs and a few dead plants. There is a patio set with an umbrella and a barbeque here. The deck is covered in ants.
>eat herbs
Yum chives! Now you have onion breath.
>attack ants
You begin stomping the ants furiously; you manage to squish 20 ants before submitting to the lure of the patio chairs. You sit down in the chair and promptly fall asleep.

I was constantly defeated by the Hitchhikers Guide text game on my Spectrum

Any post that generates a HHGttG text game reference gets a +2 from me. Played it on PC with two 5.25" floppies before there were hard drives. Gawd I'm old.

Could have been better. Perhaps if you had kicked the cat.

You kick that cat and she'll tear your nuts off.
