I woke up this morning with sleep still in my eyes. I haven't been sleeping well for quite some time. No matter how early I get up, it's just too early. "Fuck it" I thought. "Time to watch some TV." Being the geek I am, I turned the channel to the local morning news coverage. News Channel 9 WSYR. It's one of the local Syracuse stations, and has the best morning program in my opinion.

My eyes quickly snapped to the screen. "Groton was rocked last night by a series of grisly and seemingly random murders..." The report continued on, and I stood up in a daze.

The water was cold on my face and I looked into the mirror. My reflection just stared back at me, then gave me a menacing grin. I put my hands over my face and counted to 10, then popped a couple more pills than usual to make up for what I missed yesterday. Dr. Sherman said it doesn't work like that, but what does she know anyway?

The dreams had stopped a couple weeks ago. After moving here, I thought I'd made a fresh start. I was wrong. I opened the clothes hamper to throw my towel in. So much blood. "Jesus!" I turned and stifled the urge to puke.

"Are you ok?" My sister put her hand on my shoulder.

"It happened again, Didn't it?"

She shrugged off my question. "Here. Have some more of your pills. Everything's going to be fine."

Short and sweet.

It's pretty good but not quirky or gripping and no twist. Gives me an idea, though.

Burns: Oh, quit cogitating, Steinmetz, and use an open-faced club! A
sand wedge!

Homer: Mmm ... open-faced club sandwich.
