It's 630AM. Sunshine and whirling fans... dog is sprawled out on the ground. She's pretty pissed that I've kept her awake.
There's more to August than making meth-heads look well rested, so I go to the bathroom and rest my head against the wall behind the toilet. Peeing is glorious. Banana pancakes. Morning traffic. Obituaries.
Before I realize exactly what I'm doing, I'm in running shoes and dorky nylon Adidas pants. God has picked me up and thrown me outside. I jog in the mist. Coffee. Shower. Energy.
Good morning, August. Tell September to take his time.
