I found this artist while browsing ebay one day for "surreal art". One of her paintings was selling pretty cheap and I was instantly attracted to it. For whatever reason I didn't buy the painting, but I have saved her webpage in my favorites ever since.
Her name is E.V. Knowles, and her art recalls the exaggerated and childlike situations of Mark Ryden, but with different imagery, and not quite so sinister. She uses a lot of animals and a lot of children...but not in the way you think.

My problem here is that very little of this image could be considered 'surreal'.
